I've noticed the Catholic Church had to dispense with the belief in Limbo, and could not come up with a single authoritative quote from the bible to say your god does not throw babies into the Lake of Fire.

So if the oldest Christian denomination on the planet couldn't find a single verse to say non-christian babies go to heaven, upon what scripture do you believe otherwise?

And upon the information I've presented, wouldn't it be fair to say Christianity believes my dead, five-year-old autistic son will be tossed into the Lake of Fire by your god because there is not -one- verse that says otherwise?

Note: "Suffer the little children to come unto me" is not a refutation of the information I've presented. I'm sure the Catholic Church would have seized upon it if it were.

Babies are not guilty of inherited sin.

"The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him." (Ezekiel 18:20)

"Sin is the transgression of the law." (1 John 3:4)

Babies have transgressed no law.

"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad." (2 Corinthians 5:10)

Babies have not done anything good or bad on which they should be judged.

Babies are in a safe condition.

Luke 21:36

Watch ye therefore, and pray always,
that ye may be accounted worthy to escape
all these things that shall come to pass,
and to stand before the Son of man.

Jesus made this statement. How can a baby watch and pray?
How can a baby be accounted worthy? What has a baby done to not be accounted worthy? The answer is nothing.

These babies and even aborted fetuses have not reached an age of accountability.

When speaking of little children Jesus said to get into the kingdom of heaven we must become as a little child. A little child is totally dependent upon the parent. A little child knows nothing but what the parent tells it.

God does not throw babies into a Lake of Fire. God even gives the most wicked human many chances. That Fire, that hell is created for Satan and his fallen angels and for humans that reject Jesus and follow Satan.

God takes his babies back that He gave as a blessing to us and that we rejected when we aborted or rejected or neglected or diseased with ancestral sins and God raises these babies for Himself in heaven.

I would trust that your son is whole and healed living eternity with the Father---we are judged by our hearts and your son's heart was probably more right with God than most. Children are still learning about choices and right from wrong--only God knows when their hearts go from child-like faith to adult ways of thinking. If we are living by the Word and we are raising up a child in the way they should go--they will never depart from it. God must see alot in you to know that you could have the love & patience it takes to care for an autistic child. Don't be concerned- your son is surely in heaven because he has already lived through hell on earth. I just pray that you can find peace and ask Christ to come live in your heart so that you can be with your son again someday.

Children won't go to Hell because they don't know right from wrong like an adult does. I read an article about children suicides a few years ago about children three to six years in age attempted to commit suicide. When asked why they did it, they all responded that they wanted to be with their loved ones that died, and referred to their death as a place instead of a condition.
Ultimately, it is up to you to decide what you believe about death and children. But you should remember that the rules to death are still there, whether you choose to believe in them or not.

Isa. 7:15; Mt. 18:3; 1 Cor. 14:20 among others suggest infants aren't sinners.

Heb 12:9 says God is the father of spirits
Ecc 12:7 says our spirit will return to God who gave it to us.

This says that our spirit at birth is as pure and sinless as God who gave it to us. Just as we inherit eye color from our earthly parents, we inherited our spirit from God, our heavenly father.

Belief and repentance and baptism are required for salvation. If one is mentally incapable of these, then one will not go to hell. This is different than one who is capable, but says they don't understand why people believe it, etc.

God's pardon is needed for those who understand they have done wrong. Babies and the mentally handicapped can't, so they aren't in need of pardon from things they can't comprehend.

If Christians are honest, there are 4 basic positions on this:

1. All children (born and unborn), all who are mentally incapacitated, and all who die in the ignorance of unbelief are elected to perdition;

2. All children (born and unborn) under the "age of accountability," all mentally incapacitated--anyone, who does not meet the "condition of accountability" and all those who are frozen in the ignorance of unbelief are elected, without exception to eternal life;

3. God has elected some as vessels of mercy and others as vessels of wrath out of His own sovereign free will, being no respecter of persons and therefore not obligated by reason of someone's predisposed conditions regardless of age, mental incapacity or ignorance, but solely according to His own purpose, after the council of His own will, for the praise of His glory alone; and,

4. When Scripture is silent and/or non-dogmatic about any issue, then we must resign ourselves to God and His Sovereignty, for some things still remain to us a mystery and with that we must be content.

In response to number two, it seems in lack of biblical certainty, that it would be unloving to extend to someone "absolute assurance" where Scripture itself is not absolutely clear. What we can give unshakable assurance to, is that God is just and righteous desiring that none should perish; delighting not in the death of the wicked; and is at the same time both loving and holy, just and merciful, wrathful and full of grace. And in all that He does, He does with absolute perfection befitting His own righteous, holy character after the council of His will, to accomplish His purpose, for His own pleasure and for His glory alone (Cp, Ephesians 1:4-14). And it is there, that we must rest, find our resolve, and leave it with Him.

Well in most cases Catholics don't teach the bible. They do teach fear, and guilt to the highest degree though far as I can see with some of my Catholic friends... I get kind of frustrated at it sorry, but in the bible God promised that everyone will have the choice of freewill and those who don't will be called up. I had studied this in length from the bible and from it's original languages and yet it was a long time ago, but I will research it so next time I can answer this question better, it has been asked before so I'm going to do it.

well, i don't know any specific verses, but Christians believe that, although He is a jealous God, He is a forgiving God and babies are too young to have done anything so terrible that it could not be forgiven, also they are to young to decide on their own what to believe. every Christian know, including myself, believes that babies go to heaven. also, if you red the Left Behind series, all babies, including those in their mothers' wombs, were taken to heaven at the coming of Christ in the book series.
