What is your favorite Gospel? Why do you like that the most? You can guess what mine is, and why.

If a Bible studies only section on Answers was created, would you stay out of this and just stick to R&S?

Personally, I would leave it alone- R&S is general enough for all of us to play, but it seems like the Christians really want their own little corner of answers- would it not be easier for them just to have their own section to battle it out in that we leave alone- and let them come and make easy targets of themselves by harassing US first?...

I think it would separate the Christians who actually want to just learn more about their book from those who want to have an insult free for all...

There is no cure for cancer that anyone knows about, but if there was, the drug companies are dispicable people for keeping it from the public?

If there is a God woudn't we expect that we woudn't understand Him? I mean, if He's GOD, then He's by definition greater and higher than us. Yet, it seems a lot of people dismiss the possibility of His existence because it doesn't make sense to them. Why is that?

I just found out (by searching Yahoo Answers) about a book called "Shadowplay : the hidden beliefs and coded politics of William Shakespeare" by Clare Asquith. I'm going to get it from the library tonight.

Since 1993 I've been trying to persuade people that there is a Catholic sub-text in Hamlet and Henry VIII. Please see my essays on Hamlet at
http://academia.wikia.com/wiki/Motifs_in_Hamlet
and

and my highly speculative biography of Shakespeare and his possible connections to the Catholic underground:

All children are born without concenpt of God, Allah, Zeus or antyhing. They only learn these things after being indoctrinated by their prevailing religion in their upbringing. Why is this poison continually supported. We should ban all religion from indoctrinating our children and cutting the flesh from them when they are born. Rabbis are giving baby boys Herpes and no one says anything.

I find it amazing how some christians here seem to have so little knowledge about the history of their faith and the circumstances in which it evolved.

Are some of them actively discouraged from learning about the history that their faith is based around?

I've been told, for the 10,000,000,000,000,000 time that I'm going to hell.
If that's true, do you think my non-belief justifies such eternal torture. I'm not asking if that is part of your faith, I'm asking if you as an individual think that is just?

1Cor.12: that the manifestation of the Spirit is given to everyone to profit/increase in their life. For to one is given the word of wisdom & another a word of knowledge by the same Spirit. To another faith by the same Spirt, to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerrning of spirits; to another different languages; to another interpreatation of this language. But all these working by the same Spirit of God... That the Spirit gives a measure to everyone of this gift or that... For the body is one ahd has many members and the members of one body being many are one body so also in Christ. For by one spirit we are all baptized into one body wherther Jews or Gentiles, or bond or free & have been all made to drink into one Spirit...

So, why do some people or Churches deny these gifts are meant to be in operation today?

Is it because some are rejecting God the Holy Spirit & therefore blaspeming?

I've been wiccan for about a month and am having trouble understanding the different pantheons. Are all the deities completely different? Or are the pantheons the same just with different names (ex. Zeus is Odin in Norse and vice versa, Aphrodite is Freya, etc. etc.)? Are are there just two, the God and Goddess and they just have a bunch of different names(ex. Zeus is Odin, Posiedon, etc.)?
I hope this doesn't confuse anyone.
Please no comments about the Christian God, I used to be Christian and don't believe in him anymore, respect my beliefs and I'll respect yours.
Thanks all.

...Are those the same Christians that claim this Religious section of Yahoo to be Christian property?

Or are those non-religious Christians not the same ones that claim to own a religious section? Non-religious people claiming a religious section would be rather silly, so it's probably two different denominations, right?

I always have a problem keeping the many Christian denominations apart, so excuse me if this question might sound ignorant.

Catholics agree with Protestants that Scripture is a "standard of truth"—even the preeminent one—but not in a sense that rules out the binding authority of authentic apostolic Tradition and the Church. The Bible doesn’t teach that. Catholics agree that Scripture is materially sufficient. In other words, on this view, every true doctrine can be found in the Bible, if only implicitly and indirectly by deduction. But no biblical passage teaches that Scripture is the formal authority or rule of faith in isolation from the Church and Tradition. Sola scriptura can’t even be deduced from implicit passages.

That the Office of Prophecy is for special Word from the Lord for today, for the people. And the prophetic gifts are for to encourage someone personally in the congregation or someone that is seeking Christ.

That there aren't as many called to the office of Prophet as there are gifted prophetically?

It would be like reading a book on the front lawn while your house was burning down and doing nothing about it.

Theists have huge influence over the world that we live in.

They influence law makers.

They try to influence the education of our children.

They exercise tremendous control over communities. Communities that we live in as well.

Would you have us sit idly by and accept that whatever you guys want, we should blindly accept?

We have children to...........and we also care about what sort of world we want them to grow up in.

Or do you guys really think you have the moral high ground?

Are you really that arrogant?

It's easy to pigeonhole people in general.

Full disclosure and honestly; Sometimes I am envious of those who have a faith in something other than this crappy culture we live in.

But I just can't help but shake my head at the fact that the United States will not even think of electing a President who wouldn't give mad props to the sky fairy.

So is religion a firm foundation, or is it just something that causes more strife than it is worth?

I vote the latter. What say you?
