jehovas witness are one of the silliest belife systems.
they told me that wed never go to a new planet.
that earth and the sun will never die.
that there are no other solor systems.
that everyone goes to hell if they do the slightest sin.
that halloween is a sin, disgraceful to god, and disgraseful to the dead.
and that they have actually witnessed jehova!

ya know...if you turned the h into a n, it could ne jenovas witness! (from ff7...wich i still need to play the original of)
then i might become one too! (sephiroth is in kingdom hearts, and the ff7 movie...hes so cool! lol)

"He beat her and threatened her with murder. But because husband and wife were both from Morocco [an Islamic country], a German divorce court judge saw no cause for alarm. It's a religion thing, she argued."
"A 26-year-old mother of two wanted to free herself from what had become a miserable and abusive marriage. The police had even been called to their apartment to separate the two -- both of Moroccan origin -- after her husband got violent in May 2006. The husband was forced to move out, but the terror continued: Even after they separated, the spurned husband threatened to kill his wife.

Summary: Divorce DENIED in Germany.

If there's no utimate authority to answer to,noone has more authority than anyone else&as many claim that we are just more advanced animals;then what justifies having morals or the need for morality?Animals in the wild kill, steal&cheat all the time&dont feel bad about it;so no form of morality is needed for them becuase that's the way their world works. Now humans on the other hand do feel bad when we do that stuff;why? If we are only animals then technically we should be able to steal, kill, cheat do any and all evil, wicked&abominable works under the sun and not feel bad about it¬ give a dam what other people think becuase nobody has authority over anybody.
Again what's the justification for morality when animals dont care weather they do evil or good becuase both are equally as valid&OK?

Around 10% of the scientists that support evolution, are Christians.

Since evolution is obviously only invented by evil people whose only goal in life is debunking Creationism, can I safely conclude that those scientist Christians are not real Christians?

Why are there so many christians that tell me my beleifs are false and that I'm going to hell? I'm Wiccan by the way. I have met more Wiccans that were nice, caring and giving than I have EVER met as opposed to Christians and I was Methodist most of my life! Why is it that Pagans and Athetiests are the nicest people and dont try to change you and some Christians, if not most, are the judgemental and seem to care about how many they can convert before they die? Is it a competion?

Have fun answering ALL of those questions!!! Brighest Blessings to all that read this!

According to Fish (who claims to have "pastored 5 churches ... served as a missionary ... presently in Bible college", has 965 best answers and who believes himself to be "right in the middle of God's will"), God killed my five-year-old autistic son to punish me for not being Christian and for challenging so many "Christians" about their hypocrisy.

And according to the Catholic Church, there is not one verse in the bible that supports a belief that non-christian children go to heaven.

So am I to believe that god killed my autistic five-year-old son to punish me for not being a Christian, and then God threw my five-year-old autistic son into the Lake of Fire because he's not Christian either?

This is your "God of Love"?

Would a god who drowned all the babies in the world (Genesis 6, 7 and Matthew 24:37-39) think twice about such a deed?

Does the money-power have any influence over other creatures except Human?
Among Human population upon the earth how many are really rich?
Do you pray to be richer and richer everyday?
Will your God be happy when you offer some money to Him?

Most of us -- and, in all fairness, including our Christian counterparts -- take great pride in the fact that we refuse to report most answers (excepting, perhaps, obvious spam) in the name of free speech.

Almost daily, however, another atheist's account goes up in smoke, while the Christian accounts remain intact. Many of the atheists reading these words have created numerous accounts solely for the fact that their opinion, while differing from the majority of those around them, has been interpreted as 'offensive' or 'inflammatory'. (Yet, some believers still label themselves as 'persecuted', but that's a rant for another day.)

By not reporting certain posts from believers that attack not only atheists, but other religions, are we not condoning bad behavior to a certain extent? Perhaps 'an eye for an eye' is in order?

I constantly get the feeling that people think that because we do not have mystic beliefs we are not spiritual or morally upright. I personally think we can be as righteous as any believer the main difference is that we don't need an imaginary God and ancient commandments to guide our lives because we can make the right choices. Don't you think it's pretty pretentious to assume you're the 'enlightened' ones and atheists desperately need to realise and embrace what *you* call the truth?

Does anyone else feel it's kind of hard to be an atheist in today's society? And why are we always the ones acused of disrespecting Christians? Not all atheists act that way.

Surely someone who has "pastored 5 churches ... served as a missionary ... presently in Bible college", 965 best answers and who believes himself to be "right in the middle of God's will" ought to be able to explain the biblical foundations for such a belief.

Abortion, embryonic stem cells, genetic engineering, all hot topics in this science v religion situation. As for the last issue specifically, anything genetically altered leads one step closer to genetically modified humans, and nothing is scarier in science to me. I mean, what if a "super baby" was "made", perfect looks in terms of symmetry and desirable features, supremely intelligent, but they decided at a young age they wanted to grow up and be a dictator? And they were "made" to be smart and charming enough to do it?

My Q, specifically, is what are your thoughts about genetic modification/engineering? I contend that morals are not genetically dictated and therefore why take the chance creating a "super person" if there is no way to ensure they will use their talents for positive purposes>

asked to respond to recent comments from a religious
leader likening him to Pontius Pilate, the Roman
governor who condemned Jesus to be crucified,
lightning from outside the debate site briefly cut off
his microphone...

1. God LOVES you and offers a wonderful PLAN for your life.

"God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life" John 3:16.

Why is it that people are not experiencing the abundant life?

2. Man is SINFUL and SEPARATED from God. Therefore, he cannot know and experience God's love and plan for his life.

Man Is Sinful
"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23.

3. Jesus Christ is God's ONLY provision for man's sin. Through Him you can know and experience God's love and plan for your life.

"God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8.

4. We must individually RECEIVE Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know and experience God's love and plan for our lives.

"As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name" John 1:12

I am not against the Mormon establishment and I believe that many in that organisation , like christiianity and sciencetology, actually belive what has been preached to them, but I have my doubts.
On some of them.
Why you ask ?? Because I have worked in private enterprise with one of them who also was an assistant to a mormon bishop ( sounds like christianity doesn't it ) and who was the most dishonest, lacking in moral fortitude, dishonourable person that I have ever come across in my life. Religion aside.

Regarding my previous question:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070606063502AATacxO&r=w

I note no one provided scripture to support a claim that your god does not throw non-christian babies into the Lake of Fire.

So whatever claims were made, there is no scripture to support them.

Am I to believe you are inventing Christian doctrine to suit your own preferences?

Am I to believe -you- are the authority on what Christians should believe?

And when you and the bible disagree, I should listen to you, and not the bible?

There is not one word in the bible that tells me your god will not throw my dead, five-year-old autistic son into the Lake of Fire. Not one word. Regardless of what you may want to believe, is it not the bible that defines Christianity?

As Revelations 21:8 clearly states, the "unbelieving" are tossed into the Lake of Fire. There are no exceptions made for babies, or people who don't know right from wrong.

Why do you say otherwise?

This question is more specifically directed at "goinghomesoon". I do not believe in jewish, christian or muslim philosophies but if I see or meet an angle I'll definitely change my mind. Since I do not have any contact with your god and you obviously do, please relay this message. I am ready and willing to accept your god as the alpha and omega. I will believe whatever it is that you believe. Please let me see that angle? This is a sincere message!
