Surely someone who has "pastored 5 churches ... served as a missionary ... presently in Bible college", 965 best answers and who believes himself to be "right in the middle of God's will" ought to be able to explain the biblical foundations for such a belief.

You did say it, Fish, and you've said it yet again here.

You are linking my questions here in R&S with the death of my son.

Tell me that is not a belief God is punishing me for what I've said here by killing my son.

I never said that and you know it. You son did not die for your sin. Tell these fine people how your cursed God before your son died and how you continue to do so. You are an evil man.

It's no more than I would expect from someone who, based on his answers in general (to you and to others), appears to be a walking, talking Chick tract. I don't care how many Christian credentials he produces; arrogance is arrogance.

He says "Tell these fine people how your cursed God before your son died and how you continue to do so. You are an evil man."

I do hope he has read Isaiah 5:21. "Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight."

When taken to task on being judgmental (elsewhere), he has cherrypicked 1 Corinthians 6:3 as somehow giving believers license to judge others, when in context it is part of an admonition to believers to not bring lawsuits against each other. The verb is "WILL judge the world ... WILL judge angels". Future tense, in other words, and not our privilege here and now. I'm not and never have been in "Bible college" and didn't have a problem figuring this out; it's pretty straightforward.

Calling a bereaved man evil is an ugly thing to do. The most charitable thing I can say about "fish" is that his reserve of kindness, humility, gentleness and patience (Colossians 3:12) seems to be running several quarts low where you're concerned.

Long suffering is part of the walk with God but using something like that for punishment ....No! If you want to get technical our kids aren't totally ours! We are to give them up to God's purpose and will ....Sometimes untimely death is driven by actions and sometimes it just is...He never said we would all have cushy long lives and whatever time we are here is purposeful....

I can tell you by experience that life can be very cruel and hurtful and I don't think it ever goes away..You might get some little breaks but for the most part it sucks and that's one of the reasons we need a saviors so that we don't lose site of the plan and the finishing point...

Life is truly short and if this is all there is then I say why bother, but since I see purpose and sense the reward at life's end that is the only thing that keeps me going!

"Tell these fine people how your cursed God before your son died and how you continue to do so. You are an evil man."

Fish . . . you're a world class ******. THIS is the compassion and mercy your god has taught you? And you wonder why so many reject your ways? Who can see what you claim your god to be, when his followers act like YOU?

Orion . . . I know it's small comfort at best, but no one is ever completely gone who is remembered with love by their kin, and whose deeds, whether great or slight, endure.

We live in a fallen world. There is death (Genesis 3) since sin entered the world. The world is Evil. That is why Jesus came and died for us.

I don't know God's reason for taking your son. But I know that he works for good for those who are in Christ Jesus.

The devil can hurt millions by taking a child from someone.
1Pe 5:8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

He doesn't want you to follow God, and so he puts confusion in your life.

The bible says:
1Co 14:33 For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.

He wants good for you!!!!!

Jer 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

If God were to punish you it is because he loves you!

Heb 12:6 For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.

and of course,
Eze 18:20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.

Jesus loves your son too!

Don't forget this life is Temporary.

Your son is in Heaven, but you need to get right with God now.

Mat 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

You are never going to understand the true answer till you take care of that part. And that is truth.

You need a personal relationship with Jesus, why ask questions here when you can just ask the creator?

BTW: The reason you won't be going to heaven, If here on Earth you hate the idea of being with God, why would he take you there kicking and screaming to live with him? God is just, he will allow your eternal seperation from him. Just remember he is the one who feeds you and clothes you.

Jesus is the reward for those who dilligently seek him.

I am sorry to read you've lost your son. I've also lost a son. It still makes me sick to my stomach, and likely always will. I think about him every day.

I don't know why some people die before others. I don't like it at all. I believe death hurts God's heart as well.

Again, I'm sorry about your loss.

If Fish tells each and all the wonderful Christians that he/she believes that God the father Almighty killed your Son to punish you, then i might call it organic , grimy Propaganda against Christians. in spite of everything which you have been with the aid of, is there no time for silence and sorrow , or in simple terms anger and dislike for the Christians ?? Orion, you ought to pull all of it jointly and quit blaming God. everybody who speaks against the Lord, walks in darkness. Please pass to the sunshine. discover the Peace it incredibly is waiting for you. Haterd, will wreck you and it incredibly is from devil. Love is from God the father.

I am still so sorry for your loss. Have you considered grief counseling? I can not even begin to imagine, nor do I want to, how broken you must feel right now. There are no words I can give you that will even mean anything. Just know that as a mother my heart aches deeply for you.

I'm sorry to hear about the death of your son. The idea that God killed your son to punish you goes against what the Bible clearly teaches.

Ezekiel 18:20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.

God MAY however have taken your son to Heaven for reasons that have to do with reminding you that tomorrow is promised to no one and the time to come to Christ is now.

"And the LORD heard your words and was angered, and he swore, 'Not one of these men of this evil generation shall see the good land that I swore to give to your fathers, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh. He shall see it, and to him and to his children I will give the land on which he has trodden, because he has wholly followed the LORD!' Even with me the LORD was angry on your account and said, 'You also shall not go in there. Joshua the son of Nun, who stands before you, he shall enter. Encourage him, for he shall cause Israel to inherit it. And as for your little ones, who you said would become a prey, and your children, who today have no knowledge of good or evil, they shall go in there. And to them I will give it, and they shall possess it. Deuteronomy 1:34-39

Hebrews 3:7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, "Today, if you hear his voice, 8 do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness, 9 where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works 10 for forty years. Therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, 'They always go astray in their heart; they have not known my ways.' 11 As I swore in my wrath, 'They shall not enter my rest.'" 12 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.

On the seventh day the child died. And the servants of David were afraid to tell him that the child was dead, for they said, "Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spoke to him, and he did not listen to us. How then can we say to him the child is dead? He may do himself some harm." But when David saw that his servants were whispering together, David understood that the child was dead. And David said to his servants, "Is the child dead?" They said, "He is dead." Then David arose from the earth and washed and anointed himself and changed his clothes. And he went into the house of the LORD and worshiped. He then went to his own house. And when he asked, they set food before him, and he ate.

Then his servants said to him, "What is this thing that you have done? You fasted and wept for the child while he was alive; but when the child died, you arose and ate food." He said,

"While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept, for I said, 'Who knows whether the LORD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?' But now he is dead. Why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he will not return to me." 2 Samuel 12:18-23
