Most of us -- and, in all fairness, including our Christian counterparts -- take great pride in the fact that we refuse to report most answers (excepting, perhaps, obvious spam) in the name of free speech.

Almost daily, however, another atheist's account goes up in smoke, while the Christian accounts remain intact. Many of the atheists reading these words have created numerous accounts solely for the fact that their opinion, while differing from the majority of those around them, has been interpreted as 'offensive' or 'inflammatory'. (Yet, some believers still label themselves as 'persecuted', but that's a rant for another day.)

By not reporting certain posts from believers that attack not only atheists, but other religions, are we not condoning bad behavior to a certain extent? Perhaps 'an eye for an eye' is in order?

It just shows that Atheists have a much higher moral sense than Christians. It takes a secure person to not take things personally. I don't feel the need to report someone. I'd rather they were tolerated, or even ignored. Reporting is for the weak.

This is just corny. What makes you think that "Athiest" accounts are closing daily while "Christian" accounts are staying open and making a mockery of the system? Why would "Christian" accounts not be flagged and shut down for making inflammatory remarks and bashing on Athiests and other religions?

It's just a lame attempt, holding that all of the Athiests out there are "above" stooping so low as to report comments that are falling into the "bad behavior" category...

The main problem out of all of it is that there are a few loud and outspoken that fall into both camps, Religious and Athiests, that have a lot of negative things to say. Their "words" become the forefront of the "scene" and the clash between the groups seems to be a big issue while the majority of both groups are not necessarily trying to play any part in this.

I can truthfully say I have never reported a Christian (or anyone else) because I disagreed with what they had to say. As with you, free speech is a matter of principle for me.

I do confess that I have used the abuse flag twice. Once for language so vulgar and obscene it made me blush. Once for an avatar that was XXX pornography. I know any Christian, or anybody who's raised a child, would've done the same.

It does anger me that self-righteous Christians who routinely condemn a person to Hell have no qualms about reporting atheists for merely criticizing their unsubstantiated ignorant superstitions. Rather than replying in kind, I personally prefer to honor the principle of free speech. I am reluctant to stoop to their superficial level for the sake of retribution.

I know! I just hit level 5, and I'm backing up my blog just for the occasion... now I have to come up with another stupid name with the initials BK....

dammit.

I hate report monkeys- BUT they come with the territory. The risk involved in dealing with these morons means u can lose your email account, your 360...

Here's how we can fight this-

1. Start a new yahoo account. Set all messages to forward to another account (say a hotmail account for example) immediately after. This will automatically back up your email.

2. For those of us who wish to back up our blogs- that part's a little difficult- you will need an HTML program. Design your blog the way you want it to look and upload as you see fit.

Doing those two things will at least assure you will never have to worry about anything but your points again.

I had an 8 year old account deleted because of people complaining about it...trouble is I don't know who reported me...was it Christians or was it atheists or maybe Wiccans or Muslims even...I will never know...I decided after 4 months away from this forum to come back and NOT try to be polite...before I did try to be nice...so far, very few of my questions and answers are reported...I cannot tell you what this means...but I decided not to report and don't as a rule...

I would like to apoligize on behalf of any "Christian" on this board who has attacked you. Obviously you and your fellow atheists are on a different path than me and while I, and true believers, want you to find what we have found in our lives, attacking you should never be the intent of a post by a Christian. If Christ is love, and thats what we believe, He would never attack. So, in closing, I say, sorry for the so-called Christians and their "attacks" and wish you well.

P.S Christians will always be "labeled" for their beliefs in the United States, ubt I will not call myself persecuted until I endure what believers in the 51 countries who consider Chrstianity illegal, endure.

An eye for an eye is of course so tempting- but then there you go, all into that old testament stuff ....

I strongly believe in walking my talk, and to not take that road of quelling free speech is of the utmost importance to me personally. It lies at the very core of my believes actually.

A very wise man once said "The graveyards are full of the self-righteous" - as in, free yourself from the need to be right, and free yourself from having to get it right.

Hello,

I am a believer and I have pretty thick skin and I never report anyone regardless of their beliefs. Unlike other abusers of the reporting system, I believe in free speech.

I will never report anyone for not believing as I do. There is a difference in stating what you believe and why you believe. . .and just plain out attacking someone else's beliefs, being purposefully rude, calling names or just making a stupid remark. . .and this is on both ends of the scales here.

Trust me it goes both ways. I have been reported for simply disagreeing with some posts. You know as well as I do, it's the trolls who do most of the reporting, and they are equal oppurtunity. If it wasn't for the debate with atheists, I as a Christian wouldn't be on this forum near as much.

I interpret your question as a "call for greater advantageous manners" between atheists. i assume thats nice, yet on the tip of the day, Im afraid it fairly is delusional to have self assurance in any faith. we could positioned this in prespective. Is it fairly that undesirable to be delusional? I advise, its no longer the comparable as being outright insane or sadistic...actual? So its no longer the worst insult, in certainty, it generally fairly no longer meant to be an insult in any respect, purely an precise descritption. so as a former believer, replaced into I additionally delusional? To the degree i for my section believed....confident even although, looking lower back, I probable spent greater time in the "detached agnostic" classification. playstation - concerning homosexuality being "organic", in case you advise "born with it" then I agree. Its a state, no longer a decision. Calling it "organic" is somewhat too a lot laptop-koolaid, even although i assume, in case you had to truly cut up hairs as to "what's organic" then you incredibly've a controversy.
