Where does the word "Muslim" originate? Was there a real person named Muslim?

Inna almuslimeena waalmuslimati waalmumineena waalmuminati waalqaniteena waalqanitati waalssadiqeena waalssadiqati waalssabireena waalssabirati waalkhashiAAeena waalkhashiAAati waalmutasaddiqeena waalmutasaddiqati waalssaimeena waalssaimati waalhafitheena furoojahum waalhafithati waalththakireena Allaha katheeran waalththakirati aAAadda Allahu lahum maghfiratan waajran AAatheeman

Certainly those men and women who are Muslims, believers, obedient to commandment, truthful, patient, prostrate (humble) before Allâh, generous (to give Sadaqât), fasting (keep Saum), guarding their chastity and remembering Allâh much, Allâh has prepared a great reward and forgiveness for them.

The word Muslim is an Arabic derivation from the word 'Islam'.

The word Muslim first originated (was seen) in the Qur'aan.

It means: s/he who submits to God

When God refers to all the previous messengers, Adam and until Jesus (yes Adam is referred to as the first messenger because he told his children about God), they all invited people to submit only to God.

Thus, the religion of God is in Arabic: submission to God alone: i.e. Islam

Muslim in arabic comes from the word Islam which comes from the word salam which means peace and submission. and no there's wasn't a real person called muslim. and that proves that our beloved relegion isn't aggressive and muslims arent terrorists. :)
