Or is God really interested in our soul? He didn't stop the 12 apostles from being martyered.

Nope, our hearts and souls only.

Really good question! God cares about us as a whole. There are many instances of God healing people. The thing is, our soul is what's going to last. Someday, we'll leave these bodies. Then our soul will be the entirety of who we are. So it makes sense that if God loves and cares about us, he'll invest in the part that will last. A lot of times, too, the body and the soul conflict. In that instance, he will allow the flesh to be abandoned so the soul can thrive. (This is our choice, as well. If we desire something for our flesh, but know it would harm our spirit, we should not do it.)

While I am sure God does care about the temporary being it is without a doubt that it is your eternal happiness that is his greatest concern. We are all souls yet it is the spirit part of us that is eternal and will be joined to a new body. The temporary is sacrificed for the eternal. God created man in his image making him first flesh then breathing in a spirit and the two became a living soul. The Bible teaches that the first will be last and the last will be first and the flesh should serve the spirit.

Absolutely! But, it is not the flesh as in our skin. The flesh is in essence the habits we pick up in this world, the spirit is what God nurtures and through that defeats the flesh. Example: you have the opportunity to steal $10,000 and nobody would ever no, your ‘flesh’ would tell you “do it” but your spirit in God would tell you "don’t do this, you are not a thief."

So, yes God is interested in our flesh because as we grow in our faith that flesh stops working against us and falls in line with our spirit in God.
God Bless!

By the way: One of the meanings martyred is a person making a sacrifice (which in life we all must make especially for God) as well as someone being put to death. So as you can see the apostles were in line with the ultimate plan.

Why did Jesus and the apostles perform so many miracles and healings? If God doesn't care about the human body, there's no point to those miracles except perhaps to show His power. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. It says that Jesus wept, so YES HE CARES. But He has his priorities straight: He cares about that which is eternal more than about that which is temporary. But that doesn't mean he doesn't care about our bodies at all.

God created our bodies...of course He cares about them.
Our bodies on this Earth are mortal. They fade, age, & die.
"From the dust you are created and to the dust you will return."

But the soul is eternal. It never dies.
"To be absent from the body is to be in the presense of The Lord."

Earthly death to God & for Christians, is not a curse or a punishment, but a reward.

Doesn't look upon the flesh but to the heart/soul of a man.
So no. I don't believe he does, it is but a mere vessel for the soul!

God does care about our flesh. He said destroy not the temple (which is our body). Becuase if we destroy our flesh we won't be able to accomplish what the Lord has set out for us to do.
