Television Mass, History, and Teachins are a good SUPPLEMENT ... but it DOESN'T replace Mass.
"Mass" derives from "Masses" meaning it's a gathering of all Catholics. We go to Mass to get the Eucharist and become one body in Christ (past, present, and future Christains).
When we're unable to take the Eucharist (mortal sins), we still need to physically be there (unless unhealthy). Despite being in mortal sin, you are still a member of the Body of Christ. As a member of the Body of Christ, you need to be present every Sunday at the Transfiguration.
So, if you're not getting "It" at physical mass, you can always physically goto mass and then re-watch it on TV too.

If you enjoy watching the mass on TV that is great, you are getting all of the intellectual content of the mass that way and you seem to really enjoy it. On the other hand, you are missing the devotional content. Coming together with others in the presence of God is important and you shouldn't neglect this. As you pointed out you are also missing the Eucharist, which is the real body and blood of Christ. You should get thee to a confessional and start receiving the Eucharist every Sunday. You can still watch the Notre Dame mass for its spiritual edification. God bless.

I think something thats really important about a relationship with Christ is that each person does it in their own way. I was raised in a strict Christian home, and it says not to go to church and take communion unless you have confessed, and not to go to other religions churches. But really and truly... Christ knows what you have in your heart, and if your church isn't doing it for you, explore out there. I switched out of curiosity and Im telling ya, I got the WOW back in my church life simply from switching. Dont worry about confession right now. Just be a positive healthy kind person to yourself and others and explore other churches out there. Find what makes you happy and get he WOW back in church and Christianity~

I think you often lose the wow factor when you repeat anything. For instance, when I kiss my husband, it will never be like the first time. "Familiarity breeds contempt." Now, I don't agree with the contempt part, but I think the concept is somewhat accurate. And remember, we shouldn't serve God based on feelings, anymore than we should base a marriage on nothing more than feelings. We should serve God because we love Him. And love is not a feeling, it is an action. "For God so loved the world that He GAVE His one and only Son that whosoever believeth..." He modeled what love should be. If you still have moments when you feel like you are missing the wow factor, start praising God, tell Him (and remind yourself at the same time) why you love Him, sing His praises, and before you know it, you will be having a very intimate and special, WOW kind of time with Him.

We can find so many excuses for not attending mass. They have mass and catholic churches in your city and state. Get up and go to confession and go to mass and receive the body and blood of Christ. If you have to go to several catholic churches until you find one you are comfortable in. Seek and you shall find. God said, " I come quickly," so don't wait until to late, or you may end up saying more than WOW, if you end up you know where. You sound like an inteligent person. Don't let the prince of darkness fool you. Listen to your heart, and by your question, I think God is trying to tell you something.

I believe the last Pope actually said something on that issue, regarding televised Masses and Sunday obligation.
If I remember correctly, watching it on television is encouraged if you can't actually get there, though I think he said some of the blessings said there don't "count" or whatever.
I would expect that most priests would tell you that you should go for it if it really feels special and spiritual to you.

Good question. Although you should go and receive when you can - - the Church does teach of Spiritual Communion. I know that the Church says that is valid. Make your confession and get to church, though.

attempt asking that query pre-1961. i'm confident the respond could be incredibly one-sided against the thought. on an identical time as no longer virulently anti-Catholic anymore, I notably doubt the nationwide networks could in the present day broadcast Catholic centers on the price of alternative denominations. that they had incredibly stay out of it. Plus, "Meet the clicking" and "This Week" with Tim and George are quasi-church homes with committed followings of their very own, no? lol. can no longer interrupt /those/ centers!
