All children are born without concenpt of God, Allah, Zeus or antyhing. They only learn these things after being indoctrinated by their prevailing religion in their upbringing. Why is this poison continually supported. We should ban all religion from indoctrinating our children and cutting the flesh from them when they are born. Rabbis are giving baby boys Herpes and no one says anything.

Wow... So being naked is wrong now? You are born naked and it is wrong to be naked? Is that what you are saying, bowlesmdb?
I always thought God asked Eve who told her she was naked because there was nothing wrong with it, considering only the Devil would make you feel ashamed of his creation?

Its nothing more than an exercise in power and control.

Sickening I think.

We are all born as you rightly say, with no preconceived notions. We are natural Atheists.

First off just because there is a lack of information does not support the fact that they are atheists, by any means. After all if you relate the lack of information with being an atheist, wouldn't that be calling an atheist un-informed or un-educated? Children have no concept of themselves let alone the world around them.

Lastly, circumcision may have started as a religious thing, but realize many studies have shown that there are advantages to being circumcised. It's more hygienic, requires less cleaning, less likely to contract certain diseases (the very tip which is cut off has cells that are more sensitive to bacteria, viruses, and thus infections. You say "cutting the flesh from them when they are born" Our placenta is cut from our body as well, yet I don't see you making a statement about that.

You are right we should stop teaching our children from the get go. I am sure we all would be better off if parents didn't meddle so much in the upbringing of their children.

Let kids just figure things out for themselves. Are children born knowing about sex? And where babies come from? Let's not tell them. Just let them figure it out on their own.

But seriously, offering your children guidance and information is part of being a parent. It is up to the child to accept or use the information that is present to them either from a parent, grandparent or teacher. It's okay to give them the information, it's up to them what to do with it.

i could could say that human beings are born with interest. If that interest isn't happy via information, human beings will draw their very own conclusions in time - even nonetheless in all probability long as quickly as they're "infants." Even the main remoted societies on earth have some form of deity that they revere which (a minimum of of their eyes) explains the unexplainable. it is not a gene, except you think approximately the genome in toto; it fairly is purely the "challenging-wiring" that ends up in a concept in time. some come to the top that there is a god; in keeping with probability there are others to whom the thought under no circumstances occurs. i'm no longer a sociologist or psychologicst, so i do no longer understand approximately that. i could could say that young infants are no longer born atheists; they're purely born without know-how, and could fill the hollow with regardless of they might as they become older and initiate off asking questions.

A child learning to walk doesn't learn without the guidance of the help of the parents. Just like learning how to talk, the child will repeat what they hear.
Teaching a child about God, is the parent's responsibility. Yes it is a choice if the parents chose to introduce religion to their child.
I chose to give my children more than just knowing that we are here without a reason. And taking religion away from people is raping their minds of all the greatness God has.

Certainly you're correct about the idoctrination that takes place, but it's not limited to religion. The entire first portion of everyones life is dominated by their indoctrination by parents, schools and society in general.

As for circumcision, were you aware that the rate of HIV transmission via sexual contact is 80% LOWER in countries that generally practice circumcision over countries that don't?

Being circumcised whether for religious or health reasons is simply smart from a disease perspective. Uncircumcised penises are basically a mucous membrane waiting to be infected. Sorry for the 'ewwww gross' factor, but you would probably rather know the facts than not.

WHOA there batman----childen are not "born Athiest"....children are born WITHOUT knowledge of religion--and that is ALL.... it is their parents who have the RIGHT to bring up their child in whatever religion they CHOOSE or NO religion at all---it is not YOUR right OR MINE, however to tell a parent how to raise his or her child nor our RIGHT to tell them what religion or NON-religion to teach them. I have not read a single case by the way of a rabbi giving a baby boy herpes during a circumcision....I'm not jewish by the way---I'm a NON-PRACTICING protestant...which doesn't matter BUT I thought you might like to know that some religions feel anyone has the right to their OWN religion and are NOT going to hell or anything like that because their beliefs may be different. Get off your high horse and let everyone be themselves and believe in what they WANT to believe---even YOU as long as you don't sit in forums like Yahoo answers and try to shove YOUR beliefs in our faces....You have a right to what you believe too----but NOT a right to force it on others.... any more then I have that right to force what I believe onto YOU.....

Your position is wrong. No one is born atheist, just like no one is born Christian, Muslim or Jewish. For a person to be an atheist, they must first be told about/taught God. This means they are given knowledge of Him and are able to comprehend that knowledge. Next, they must be capable of accepting or rejecting that knowledge. Babies don’t have the ability to do this, so they are not born anything.

Atheism involves the same type of indoctrination as any other faith/belief system.

God bless.

I was forced into the roman catholic practice and I am grateful for the experience and am even more grateful I came out of it normal. I have often told my mother, who no longer practices, I wish you wouldn't have baptized me catholic and sent me to catholic school. I lived in fear of god and life and was confused with the hypocritical teachings.........I mean no offence to catholics! I knew that is not where I belonged for years, but had to do it for my family.

I think that religion is a family tradition and that is why it is often taught to babies and is part of their up bringing. The old-timers would have never heard of not bringing up the children in the same mannor as previous generations. I often think if the saying "she is probably rolling in her grave" is true, my nana probably is because we have given up the practice and are not baptizing the new generations into the church.

I do not have children and am not sure how to introduce my children to anything, so if you have suggestions I am open. Babies are closer to god than the most devout christian because they just left he/she to reenter this world (so needless to say I do not believe that unbaptized babies who die go to limbo and never see god).

We should be given a choice or be taught a more eclectic religion and not be told if we are bad we will go to hell and be with the devil for all eternity and that god is watching us like we are prison inmates. This is very frightening to a child. There will never be an end to the religion wars and no one knows the right way to worship, we just all need to practice religious tolerance. Be in Peace and Love

I was brought up by atheists, and told god was a concept invented by man to enslave man. Even then, I have reverted to Islam because I have the innate conscience of God that defines us as humans.
All children are born with this conscience, and it is their upbringing that makes them forget it, which is sad. Religion is something very important for mankind, and it is what keeps us from acting like selfish animals...
I hope this was helpful...
as for Rabbis and herpes... no comment...

Truth is, children are closer to God than most adults. It's the experiences of age that drive people away from God, make them less child like, which is what God desires. Children know naturally what is good and true. They have a clear connection to God within. It's the nasty evil world and bad formal religion that often confuses them and makes them doubt that connection with God. Good parents and religion help to grow and reinforce the connection that children have with God and should continue to have into their adult lives.

Oh, one more thing, lots of godless immoral people are giving innocent children AIDS, and nobody says anything either.
