What does this scripture mean to you? How do you go out and make disciples? Do you talk to strangers about your religion/faith? If not, why? If so, where do you talk to them? Jesus told his disciples to go from house to house and find the deserving ones, do you do this?

Hi there, I have a big mouth and never meet a stranger. Every conversation can be turned around as to get in a good word for Jehovah.

If you get gas and pay the store you can mention what a beautiful day God has given to all of us.

When in line at a grocery you can bring up a local news event and mention how God will bring all bad things to an end.

In any situation there is an opportunity to praise God and give others hope.

Also there is the door to door service we are all encouraged to participate in. We are to preach and teach and baptize those who are willing to bring their lives into harmony with God's will as they see what is coming upon the inhabited earth.

If someone wants to hear the word of God read, you will know it right away. If they are against it you will also know right away..The bible says of these ...if they refuse the word..shake the dust off of your feet and move on.....God appreciates all of us that talk to his children and try to readjust their thinking and turn them back to serving him before it is too late.

In doing this preaching work we save ourselves and also those who listen to us.
Praise Jah you people

Matt. 28:19 is so misused by religions today, that they can not see further then this verse, I am a Christian for over 37 yrs. God has taught me many yrs. ago, That we have to live it before we can talk it, I have always said, If I claim to be a Christian & I am not living it, then I have nothing to talk about, We are the only bible some people will ever read. Yes at one time we could have taken part of this verse & try to get the lost saved, But we are now in the perfecting state of the Bride according to Eph. 4:11-17 Yes Jesus still saves, Now concerning the last half of this verse, There is NOT one person in the bible that was EVER baptized in the name(singular) of the father son & holy ghost. Father, Son & Holy Ghost is not a name, they are TITLES to a one redemptive name, & That name is Jesus Christ, Jesus said I have came in my Father's name, & also whatsoever ye do in word or deed(Baptism is a deed) do it ALL in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Now show me one place in the bible where anyone was baptized in those titles. Now lets go back to the first part of that verse, go out to all nation and Teach, first of all you have to know what to teach & many today has gotten away from truth, But back in the Apostles time, they knew what to teach. Think on this a little.

Where in that scripture does it tell us to do this? Jesus is speaking to HIS disciples, before he ascended to heaven. He is telling THEM to continue his work--to go and teach the nations. There is nothing in Matt 28:19 about going from house to house, or find the deserving ones. We're not to go from house to house, like Jehovah's Witnesses do. Christians are to teach by example. That is, we are to live our lives in such a way that the world sees Christ in us. This is why the Nation of Isreal was chosen, to be an example to the world. And who are we to decide who is deserving? That's not our purpose. God chooses the deserving ones, not us.

The best way to evangelize/witness is by example. Actions speak louder than words; “Practice what you preach.” People will respond to what you do, not what you say.

As Christians, we are called to live a life of the Faith and in the Faith. That means that we show people Christ by how we live our lives and how we treat others.

We should also know our faith. This means study and worship. We may need to teach someone about Jesus, or defend what we believe in. We can only do that if we know the scriptures, understand their meaning, know the catechism, and most importantly, are dedicated to prayer and the Mass. It takes the Holy Spirit to help us on our walk of faith to begin with; without Him, we can’t do it on our own.

Witness by example. Know your faith. St. Francis of Assisi said it best (paraphrasing), “Preach the gospel every minute of every day of your life, and when necessary, use words.”

God bless.

I think being to invasive with your religion is what has turned off so many people from Christianity. I try to show others Christianity by being a good Christian, I believe God will bring to you the people you need to share the Word with, but I would wait until the right moment, until it is inquired about, I wouldn't just go up to someone and start preaching, I don't even like when Christian do that to me.

Example, I was working the register one day while in college and one lady I rang up slide a small pamphlet over the counter to me before she walked out. I was a step by step guide on how to gain salvation with the address of a Baptist Church on the back. My first thought was "who does she think she is? I'm a Catholic, I'm already saved!" I can only imagine what someone who's not looking for that advice would think if that happened to them.

Once again, I think the best way to spread the word of God is by shaping our lives after Jesus. Don't hind your beliefs, just don't preach to people who don't wanna hear it. Love people! It's simple and you can't go wrong.

Simply by talking with people, strangers, even the Homeless.

You can talk to someone on the streets, without being Pushy, or trying to be better than anyone else.

A lot of people really want to have God in their Hearts.
They are afraid to ask Him, as they may think, they are too far lost, or too far for God to reach, or Love.
Which, that is so far from the truth.
That is why God appoints men, people , for Him to use, to reach those who are so Desperate for His Love.
There are a lot of People who really are Hungary for God, and His peace, comfort and protection.
They just do not know.
So yes.
Yes to both parts.
Sometimes, I will go up to a complete stranger, and I will enguage in a conversation, then if I can, I may just ask...Do you know God.
Or sometimes, I can just sense that they Want Him to come into their Heart. That they are ready for God to be in control of their lives.

I think it really means, Bring people to God, and to make Disciples, means, that they will bring more people to Him.

2000 years ago we did not have communications tools like we have today. Its far easier today to bring a person from a foreign country to your church and train them and send them back home than to send a team to a foreign country. Yes, we still are obligated to Matthew 28:19, we just use different tools today. In the USA ( and Europe) there is no need to go house to house. Mail outs work better. Besides, today most people do not want church people knocking on their doors. All of the people are aware of the gospel-most just choose to believe something else.

16Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Sorry, Jesus did NOT tell us to go from house to house to find "the deserving ones".
He said, "Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you"
Our job is to spread the word, NOT to 'harvest the crop'.
Oh, in answer to your question, yes..I spread the word where I go.
