Isn't just the knowledge that loved ones are eternally suffering enough to make you suffer eternal torment yourself, even moreso because you are enjoying the selfish pleasures of heaven?

"the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose". Genesis 6:2 (King James version)

- clearly one has the daughters of MEN and sons of GOD instead of sons and daughters of men.

At church, this girl went to the hospital to go for serious heart surgery. She had 4 holes in her heart.) Nearly every fellowship group (about 12 groups) went to visit her. They wanted to show how they care about her so much. She loved the attention. But after the surgery and she was well, nobody seemed to care about her. There wasn't any new friends made and it was like she was invisible to them.

Personally, if it was me, I would not want a bunch of strangers coming to visit me when I am sick and weak and unable to take a bath. If they really care about people, why do they treat her like they don't care anymore because she is well.

I was talking with my friend, who happens to be Druid, and he said that my beliefs match up almost perfectly with Taoism. Can somebody please explain this more to me? Or refer me to a RELIABLE website?

"I hate divorce," says the LORD God of Israel, "and I hate a man's covering himself with violence as well as with his garment," says the LORD Almighty. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith."---Malachi 2:16

when your boss at work gives you a command to follow, you follow it like it's written in your Bible, but when God gives commands to his servents, some people ignore it, others take it lightly without too much attention to it, while in fact God should be put first before anything else.

It seems to me that people will do anything to preserve the idea that they are correct in their beliefs. So much so, that even after nearly everything stops making sense (ie. Adam and Eve, Noah's Ark, Tower of Babel, etcetera) people will change the meaning of the stories (at least in their minds) so that it no longer has to be taken literally. Since half the bible is no longer taken literally by most believers, what is the point of believing any of it at all? Why not just take the final step?

Before you were saved did you have trouble understanding the Bible? It seems like before I was really saved I had trouble reading and understanding the word of God. When I embraced the basics, like Jesus died for our sins, and he is coming back, the rest seemed easier to read and understand. If you shared this experience, do you think it shows God's power?

My question is for the Christians cause I believe in God but for me Jesus was just a prophet among others.

For me he's not the son of God, yet I still appreciate all that he said. Thing is he was only a human being, and had no holy conception nor resurection as far as I'm concerned.

On the other hand, I do believe that God watches us and look after us. I don't believe in luck or injustice, I think all our behaviors are judged by God and that he rewards us. All our success or our failures depends on the will of God.

So could you explain me Christianism, I don't understand what's the point in worshipping a man dead 20 centuries ago. For me, heaven and hell are right here and right now, and only our success or our failure mean it.

Christians, could you explain me what does Jesus Christ stand for in your faith ?
