At church, this girl went to the hospital to go for serious heart surgery. She had 4 holes in her heart.) Nearly every fellowship group (about 12 groups) went to visit her. They wanted to show how they care about her so much. She loved the attention. But after the surgery and she was well, nobody seemed to care about her. There wasn't any new friends made and it was like she was invisible to them.

Personally, if it was me, I would not want a bunch of strangers coming to visit me when I am sick and weak and unable to take a bath. If they really care about people, why do they treat her like they don't care anymore because she is well.

They didn't care about her when she was sick either, it was just something they could do to appear to be nice. It was for themselves not her. When a person is sick if you really care about them you wouldn't descend onto their hospital room when they feel terrible and yak in their face.

Oh, that is awful. My mom always says that if people don't pay attention to her while she's alive and well, she doesn't want them showing up at the hospital or her funeral. I feel the same way. Sometimes we take people for granted. Maybe they feel she doesn't need them right now because she is doing so well. I really don't know why they acted that way.

God Bless.

Sometimes people don't care as much as say they do. It proves who your friends are. I've known way too many people like that. Its sad and not nice but, that is how some people can be. Personally, I would rather have no one than some one that showed me false loved me.

Some people try to "buy" their way into heaven by the works they do. By helping her when she was sick they are getting brownie points towards their ticket to heaven. It's sad that people are like that. I knew PLENTY of them in the mormon church.

The church people did it to make THEMSELVES feel good and be able to say in the church newsletter that they visited the sick.

She probably had the nerve to say the doctors helped her get better and not "god".

Perhaps they truly didn't care for her, but were using her for publicity to appear compassionate.
