My question is for the Christians cause I believe in God but for me Jesus was just a prophet among others.

For me he's not the son of God, yet I still appreciate all that he said. Thing is he was only a human being, and had no holy conception nor resurection as far as I'm concerned.

On the other hand, I do believe that God watches us and look after us. I don't believe in luck or injustice, I think all our behaviors are judged by God and that he rewards us. All our success or our failures depends on the will of God.

So could you explain me Christianism, I don't understand what's the point in worshipping a man dead 20 centuries ago. For me, heaven and hell are right here and right now, and only our success or our failure mean it.

Christians, could you explain me what does Jesus Christ stand for in your faith ?

John 1
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2The same was in the beginning with God.

3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

6There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

7The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

8He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

9That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

10He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

11He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

15John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

16And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

17For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Have you read the Bible? Not being rude but serious. Jesus is prophesied throughout the old testement, how he would be born of a virgin, walk sinless and die for us...how he would die...etc

--Christs example in worship of his Father , God is indeed simple:

(1 Peter 2:21-23) “. . .In fact, to this [course] YOU were called, because even Christ suffered for YOU, leaving YOU a model for YOU to follow his steps closely. 22 He committed no sin, nor was deception found in his mouth. 23 When he was being reviled, he did not go reviling in return. When he was suffering, he did not go threatening, but kept on committing himself to the one who judges righteously.”

--HE WAS NOT GOD in any kind of specialty , he was a man when on earth and died as one! --NO TRINITY!
--IF INDEED you believe he was not God , you are absolutely correct!
--IF YOU MIGHT GIVE some thought of his possibly , truly being the only begotten son of God, there are outstanding truths that he indeed was not an ordinary prophet of God! Please note what a historian has said of him:

*** gt The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived ***

The historian H. G. Wells said that a man’s greatness can be measured by ‘what he leaves to grow, and whether he started others to think along fresh lines with a vigor that persisted after him.’ Wells, although not claiming to be a Christian, acknowledged: “By this test Jesus stands first.”
--The , respected historian Will Durant argued: “That a few simple men should in one generation have invented so powerful and appealing a personality, so lofty an ethic and so inspiring a vision of human brotherhood, would be a miracle far more incredible than any recorded in the Gospels.”
, He indeed fulfilled all the 350 and more prophecies of the true messiah and Son of God

Jesus isn't dead. Many witnesses saw him after he arose. No resurrection? Then quit believing in God and live life the way you want. You can't believe in God without believing Jesus is who he said he was. The entire scripture points to Jesus the Messiah. No other person ever made the claim he did and then backed it up.

Without Jesus, there is no sacrifice for sin. Who today follows the Law? No one. So that would mean everyone would pay the penalty of sin. No one is good enough on their own merit. God has always made a provision for sin and right now the only provision is Jesus.

in the Bible, New Testament, the fourth book is called John.
John chapter 1 verse 1 states:: in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
We Christians interpret the Word as Jesus.

Jesus is the son of God, Jesus is God in the flesh.

actually it wasnt 2000 years ago, but close, if you believe as scholars have said, that Jesus was born in 4 b.c., the that would mean the sroty of Christ alive took place in 26 a.d. to 29 a.d., that wasnt 2000 year ago, but it was close.

I'll answer your second question: what Jesus Christ stands for in my faith: Son/Sun

He is the Radiance of the Sun. If you can imagine what the world would look like without the physical sun, then you can get an idea of what the soul looks like without HIM. The mind can do fine on its own, figuring things out, but the soul is barren. And by the way, He isn't dead. He is an eternal member of the Godhead, and just visited us for a while.

I believe in both, both are one. They are two thirds of the trinity. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God the Father. He is that part of God made human. He represents Salvation from sin, redemption and pardon. He is the only way to God the Father.

we (Trinitarians) believe Jesus is God. it goes like this:

okay, first you need to understand Genesis 3. When Adam and Eve chose to disobey God, it was like a statement of "we are no longer yours", basically, they disowned God. so if we are the children of the disowned, we need to get back to God to be His children agaion. hence, "be born again". you are born again by accepting Christ as your Lord and Savior, and repenting. note that "Lord" refers to living for Him.

God is made up of an essense. this essense is not only like His dna, but it carries His mind along within it. so for Jesus, it was just a matter of putting some of this essense into a soul and that soul inside a body. Jesus coming from the Father makes Him the Son.

Jesus also exhibitted traits to be the Son. Jesus, as He was a man, was subject to man's rules. so as a man, He had to be obedient to authority. and who's the ultimate authority? God. since the Father is basically the head of the Trinity, and is the one of highest literal position (He never leaves Heaven). So as a man, Jesus was completely obedient to His Father, hence, again, He is the Son.

Then there's this: bloodlines are carried through the fathers. the entire purpose of Jesus coming to earth was for His teaching and His death. Because from the begnning "the wages of sin is death", something had to die for man, or else the sin he committed would cause him to be hellbound. you pay for sin with your life. sacrifices had to be perfect. Now Jesus, He was born of a virgin, with the other half of His dna having being made by the Father and Spirit, had the Blood in Him, the perfect blood of God. now if animals sin can cover sin, what do you think God's blood can do? His blood washes away the sins of the world, for all those who accept Him. Having God's bloodline makes Him the Son

we don't believe Heaven and Hell are now. if you die, you either die in sin, or die righteous. if it is the former, you go to Hell: the waiting place for judgement, where the worm dyeth not, and the fire cannot be put out. if it is the latter, you enter eternity with God, go to Heaven, and await the new Earth

what happens in life, this one, is determined by:

- relationship with God. if you are born again (God's child), then certain things must come your way if you meet requirements (if you're righteous). however, trials will often come, as God likes to make sure His children are prepared. also, if you sin, you give legal access to the devil to work. no sin, no access

- soulish abilities. I believe in a "soulish equilibrium". basically, God created all souls equal based on standard. we all have different degrees in terms of talents, abilities, intellect and even a sixth sense. so you could be 1 for talent in music, 2 for abilities in coordination, and 1 for memory, while another person is 1 in coordination, 2 in intellect, and 1 for a sixths sense. it still equals 4. if you were born with certain talents (based on your body, as your soul's created within the womb) or abilities, then you use them to your advantage. it takes exploration sometimes though

I hope that helps, sorry this was long

Hi jacques b. The Bible tells us without a doubt that Jesus was God Almighty Himself. In John 1:1 God tells us He is the Word:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

In John 1:14 God tells us the Word is Jesus:

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

We read in Genesis 1:1 that God created the world:

“in the beginning God created the Heaven and the earth”

In Hebrews 1:1-2 God reveals that it was Jesus that created the world:

“God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;”

In Colossians 1:16-17, Jesus is called the creator of the world:

“For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him“.

When we look at these verses and tie them to Genesis 1:1 we see that Jesus is the Creator. Since Christ is the Creator, He is God.

In Hebrews 1:8 God calls Jesus God:

“But to the Son He says:“ Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.”

We know from reading Isaiah 43:11 that God is telling us there is no Saviour besides Him:

“I, even I, am the LORD, And besides Me there is no savior.”

Jesus is the Savior. We read in Matthew 1:21:

“And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”

When we look at the Bible in its entirety we can see without a doubt that Jesus Christ is God Himself.

He came for the specific purpose of taking our place in death, which we all deserve for our sins. As a result, all who believe on Him have eternal life. It is legalism to think that you have to have a warm and fuzzy feeling about Jesus. We either have or will have or won't have. It's just the facts. No more, no less. He qualified as the perfect lamb; no one else could do what needed to be done.

for me , it was realizing that jesus either told the truth or he was a liar...he did not say he was a prophet...others did... he said no one comes to the father except thru me..HIM.. also ..there are many mansion in my father's house.. i go there to prepare a place for you...
so either everything he says is true or it is all a lie...
he came here for a reason... and if he is preparing a mansion for me in heaven..then heaven must be real too because i see no mansion being in hell or on earth...
i think if a person wants to know christ better, they should join a good church where they learn about the bible and know jesus with your heart as well as your mind, otherwise, life has no meaning and we are just wasting time...

I am Jehovah's Witness. Jesus was Gods first born in the sense that Jesus was Jehovah Gods first creation before anything else in the Universe.
Second then God used him as The Master worker to create all else through Jesus, so they worked side by side.
Then EONS later when God asked for the volunteer to save mankind, Jesus excepted and fulfilled the challenge of leaving the Heavens to come to earth in mans form to save mankind. So He was Gods first born Human son. First Born twice,
Jesus because he remained faithful to the death to his father Jehovah proved his integrity, and earned a place at the right hand of God in the heavens. Also, because he died for us, Jesus cleared the way for humans to go back to a righteous relationship with God the Father. We lost that right when Adam sinned, along with a WHOLE lot more that Jesus Gods Faithful, Son, Servant, Heavenly King, returned to us.

All that being said, I am grateful to Jesus, I honor Jesus, I love Jesus, I WORSHIP Jehovah, the creator of all things, including Jesus.
