Very interesting question. In general his life probably wouldn't be worth 2 cents. Yes, it would matter what the race, creed and gender was and it would matter what country he or she appeared in. Also what group of people he or she first appeared to. He or she better come with the power of the Lord as prophisized or they will be in big trouble. I have two books for you to read somewhat related to this topic. 1. Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein
2. Brave New World by Audlous Huxley

Anyone who says he is the Messiah is an Anti-Christ.
The People of God of the Old Covenant and new People of God expect the coming (or the return) of the Messiah. However, the People of the New Covenant await the return of a risen Messiah. The People of the Old Covenant await the coming of a still unknown Messiah, because they do not know or they misunderstand Christ Jesus.
Peace and blessings!

There is only one Messiah, the word is the hebrew word for "Anointed one" - his birthplace, life, and death were prophecied in the Old Testament of the bible, his was born in Bethlehem and he died on a cross for the sins of all mankind.
When the Messiah returns for the second time he will come with power and he will judge the earth and seperate us into two groups - those who loved God and served our fellow man and those of us who did not. The righteous will live in heaven with the messiah and the wicked will be condemned to hell.
It won't matter what color he is, for he will be glorified. It won't matter what country he appears in (he will most likely return to Israel) because the whole earth will see him at once when he returns.

i'm the taxicab messiah, and i get along with people pretty well... lol. i'm kidding.
it depends. if the messiah could cause miracles that were unexplainable. like if he caused food to appear in the homes of those in poverty. eradicated disease from the planet. so and so forth.
yeah. i'd think people would believe if it were that black and white.
however, if some guy just claims he's jesus or whoever, that wouldn't work. there are already a few trying to profit from that. lol.

Much depends in my answer on your wording.
If "a" Messiah came... there are pretenders in every generation. Some are fooled -some aren't.
If "THE" Messiah comes again... it won't be as a lamb this time and those who oppose will already believe- but won't have any means left for their own salvation.

where ever he was or what ever he looked like, the moment he says, "I am the son of God" he will be sent to a mental institution. There was some guy in the fairmont hotel in Toronto ages ago that insisted he was Jesus, he went around giving away all his $$ and saying "its ok, im jesus", he apparently rented a room, and he never came down for checkout, and refused to open the door, so they had to get into the room themselves, and when the hotel staff got in there, he had emptied everything in the minibar, and his only reaction was "its okay im jesus" he was then thrown out of the hotel. I laughed when I heard this story! Silly Jesus!

In the Eastern Traditions there are many messiahs (anointed ones) around, and more on their way every day. Its that time, you know.

If Jesus appeared in the world today, it would be all over. The dead in Christ would be raised first, then we who are alive would be caught up with Him in the air, and we would live with Him forever. The End.

Although I would hope people would believe and revere him, I am sure that they will ridicule and despise him just like they have through the ages.
