My mom is a fairly conservative Christian, and I have become agnostic recently. How do I tell her this without upsetting her too much?

If I am not to use my judgment to decide which god is worthy and which god is unworthy of my worship, just how do they expect me to choose to worship any god at all?

What criteria am I to use if not my own judgment?

And what would it say about me and my judgment if I said yes, the god I worship dorwned babies, and it was good because God did it?

What does it say about them that they've never given it a second thought?

Part of their mission is to preach, preach, preach. What if everybody who isn't already a Christian got that "state of mind" thing down and just meditated, drowning out the sound of preaching, or if they miraculously succeeded in converting everyone on earth to Christianity (yeah, I can hear you now going "ha ha ha")? For the sake of argument, let's say there is no one for them to preach to. What do they do?

i believe the flood was true but somewhat exaggerated. i believe it only happened in some places when the ice caps melted aftr the ice age.

but if God really did flood te entire world, shouldnt u be happier? cuz if He didnt, our population would be MUCH larger, and we would have more global warming, less wildlife, and more polllution.

thoughts? (i kno i sound very dark in this question, but im just making a pt...)

I just heard on the Discovery Channel that Neanderthals had funerals and burried their dead. I've read that chimps have similar rituals.

Think they have a shot at the afterlife?

does anyone see a paralell between the removal of Adam's rib to create Eve, and the piercing of Christ's side to release His life blood?

I would appreciate thoughtful and respectful answers please :)

I should think the question of whether it is fitting to worship a god who has drowned babies would have a rather obvious answer in this 21st century society.

It is interesteing to see how wrong I can be about that.

Are you surprised none of the "Christians" seem to consider it a valid moral dilemma for any human?

Are you surprised none of them acknowledge that everyone should have a good answer to such questions before becoming a "Christian"?

Are you surprised all of them treat it as a 'no-brainer'?

Just Google it and you'll see a lot more of this. & I believe it. It's not necessarily a bad thing. It's about as harmful (if not less) than cigs and like alcohol, you shouldn't use it and drive. It helps during cancer therapy and could even help anorexics! You don't find much violence at all from pot cause all the user wants to do is eat, be creative or relax. It also hasn't been proven that it causes any learning problems, memory problems or that it's either physically or psychologically addicting. You think a lot of religious people would be more open-minded about weed if the world mostly runs on religion (which can get kindda annoying i.e. illegal for gay people to marry, close-minded to other religions, etc) & if their God created it.
