Because the bible was written by men for men? It's also interesting how not only was humanity started by a male, but how a woman messed it up for everyone.
Total sexism!

No Christian believe that Adam give birth to Eve, not literally nor figuratively. The Bible says that God made Eve.

Secondly, if a man has only one leg, and he fathers a son, is the son born with only one leg? You are confusing evolution with the Bible. Darwin and the hypothesis of evolution state that if a blacksmith develops a muscular body by hard work, his son will INHERIT similar body structure. How's THAT for science !?

Nobody believes that, and that's not what the bible says.

The bible says God formed Eve from one of Adam's ribs. If God can speak the universe into existence and he can form man from the dust of the earth, he can certainly create a woman from a rib if he chooses to do so.

That means at most that Adam was missing a rib, but not all mankind after him... if you chop the tail off of a salamander, the salamander's babies will have tails, it's in the DNA...

No, Adam didn't give birth to Eve. God created Eve from the dust of the earth, using one of Adam's ribs...Got to admit, first time I've heard this idea.

God "took" one of Adam's ribs and made woman there kitty kat. Men and women have the same number of ribs. Adam on the other hand obviously had one less than Eve though, huh?

Um, Adam didn't birth to Eve. God took Adam's rib and created Eve with it. Men are incapable of giving birth, but God gives life.

No one that has read the Bible.

Genesis 2
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=1&chapter=2&version=31
21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs [h] and closed up the place with flesh.
22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib [i] he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
23 The man said,
"This is now bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called 'woman, '
for she was taken out of man."

Just as a side note (... side ... ribs... get it... :-( ... OK a bad pun ) the male DNA is the one that contains both the X and Y Chromosomes that determine sex. Just in case you missed it the Man has XY and the woman XX Chromosomes.

He did not "give birth" to Eve. God created Eve from Adam's rib. That's not giving birth.

eve was formed from Adam's rib, taken from his side for that purpose (a very clear picture of the piercing of Christ's side I might add)

Adam was the only man with one less rib, although God, being who He is, may have easily replaced it if He so chose...

blessings :)
