How did they determine that 2 years is sufficient and why only two? Why not just one? Why not for their whole life? Jesus didn't minister for only 2 years.

that the biggest problem people have with not believing evolution is that they dont' understand it?

the number 1 argument that i hear from christians is "if we came from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?" i recently had a discussion with a christian friend of mine who didn't believe in evolution because in her christian school, she was taught that evolution means we came from monkeys. when i explained to her what it REALLY means, i.e. about the common ancestor and adaptation, etc. she said "oh. that makes sense. i can see that." she now fully believes in evolution (yet still believes in god and creationism) because she now understands what evolution truly means.

i honestly think one of the biggest problems is that people misuderstand evolution because they were taught incorrectly in their schools or because they were too closed-minded to listen to the real theories in the first place.

any thoughts?

In the real world I have the attitude of believe whatever you want as long as it doesn't personally affect me I couldn't care less.

However, in R&S believe whatever you want but prepare to defend it, and get ready to take critism, sometimes straight up hurtful and mean. And if you're not ready for that maybe you should crawl back into bed where it's safe.

Hello everyone i am new to Yahoo Answers. I am here to ask for advice and guidence. And would like to thank everyone for there support.
I hate my life it is the only life i have ever known, I am 18 and as i get older i find it more difficult to break away from my religion and family. I hate being an hasidic jew, a woman's job is just to breed and have as many children as possible, according to Jewish law that is a woman's obligation and duty. Jewish women arent equal to men and are just seen as a breeding machine..i can't imagine my self living this life, having up to seven kids and not having a career, and following my religion by the way i am an atheist and i don't believe in the Torah i guess i am liberal is just i dont take word for word literally as all jews do. I know i will shame my family and my community if they ever found out about my feelings. There is also something else.....

I have the biggest crush on a (Latino) boy who lives around my area in williamsburg.

I've seen so much violence and killings in the name of Islam in the news that I just want to know whether this religion is preaching violence or these people are using their religion as an excuse to justify their behavior? I have seen this with Catholics, Protestants, Bhuddists, and others.

The other day one of the people that I go to school with whom I thought I was on relatively good terms with told me that I was going to go to hell after he found out that I wasn't a Christian. I know I'm a good person and I think that it was extremely unfair and closed minded of him just to say that to me based on what kind of religion I do or do not follow. I realize that all Christians are not like this beacuse I have other Christian friends who seem alot more liberal in their views. This experience caused me to wonder why some Christians out there are so fanatical?

I was born December 25th (and my birthday/holy day has been celebrated on this date for thousands of years), my mother was a "virgin", I had 12 followers who went around with me, I was betrayed, killed to save my followers and I then rose again.

I serious, why? Give me a moraly objective reason why Hitler was wrong. Not just your personal subjunctive opinion.

If there is no God and there is no Objective source to turn to to define what is right or wrong, why was Hitler wrong

If I believe in survival of the fittest ( I DON'T) and Hitler just happended to be the fittest in Germany at the time then by my reasoning He had every right to KILL OVER A MILLION JEWS.

It is possible to be against murder and Genocide and be an Atheist but without an objectional standard that means anyone at any time can disagree with you and if their ideology becomes the dominant in the society in which you live and your the group they wish to purge what reason can you give to stop them.

You always demand proof of God from us Christians. Now, I would like to turn that question around to you. Where is your proof that God doesn't exist? Just wondering if you have any proof, or just following what others say. (As you like to accuse us of doing)

The OT describes God as emotional, angry, judmental, jealous...basically to be feared.

The NT describes God as loving, caring, and forgiving.

From what I've been told, the explanation is usually that Jesus's message was to "set the record straight" and define things as they really are.

So my question is, why would Christians quote the Old Testament as accurate if the coming of Christ makes the claims inaccurate?

Jesus
The Golden Rule
In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you

Buddha.
Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.

Mohammed
Patience is the key to contentment

Ghandi
We must become the change we want to see.

Wiccan
An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will

these are just a few examples of what we can learn from each other
and it is obvious , when it comes down to it , we arent so different
so whats with all the argueing ?
whats with the , I am right and you are wrong ?
surely we would be better people if we seen the similarities in each other and learned from each other
we all have something to teach don't we ?

Okay people , What do u think about it.

I think that God ( Ganesha, Jesus or Buddha..) has given us a life n life is difficult.
While living this life ,a person faces many day-to-day problems n the answers to these problems frequently remain unaswered.
I think that the religion of Hinduism n the culture( Yoga ,respect for human life, respect for animals etc) associated with it can easily guide u in this or any other life.
Hinduism is considered as a primary religion . It has not been founded by anyone.
Please give serious answers.......
