Yes I do.

Of course, this just begs the question of who is "right". You have all of these religions claiming to be the correct ones, and claiming that something nasty will happen to you if you don't follow them. And they all fall back on logical fallacies and quoting their dogma as the only supportive arugments. It could very well be that NOBODY is right, and that the "right" religion is something that hasn't even been founded yet. You have to be an idiot to fall for Pascal's Wager.

So I'm forced to take a pragmatic view, and just go with the religion that works best for ME, realizing that it's not going to appeal to everybody, and that's just fine.

I see no reason why I should. No one has ever produced any evidence that God is not real.

But for the sake of argument, let's say that I am wrong. If I continue to go through life believing as I do, I'll be happy believing that there's a much better life waiting for me after death. If I am wrong then I'll never know since I would simply cease to exist. I'd die a happy man.

If on the other hand, if God is real and I chose not to believe in Him, what reason would I have for continuing to live. My life is nothing without my belief. And when I die, I'd find out the hard way that not only was my life on Earth wasted, I'd have an eternity to regret my choice.

I believe that God is Everything to Everybody. Hope I'm not wrong but I am just as likely to be wrong as anyone else. Still, at least my beliefs gave me some peace in this life even if I don't get any in the next! LOL!

I am positively certian that there is a God.
I don't think it's possible to know much about Him, though.
I believe that is one reason why He became flesh...to give us a closer look at His true self.
I believe that He also became flesh for the experience, and, of course, to reconcile the world to Himself, which I believe He did through His death and resurrection.
There you pretty much have the extent of my "religious convictions".
Anything else I may believe about Him could be wrong, I suppose.

If a member of one of the more insidious "Christian" cults ever experiences a moment of lucidity and reason in which he begins to doubt the literal truth of the ridiculous mythologies in which he was raised, some sleazy pastor-type whisks him away to a dark corner and emotionally abuses him back into compliance. "Don't doubt; doubt comes from Satan. The fool saith in his heart there is no god. Those wicked secularists want you to loose faith; don't let them raid the treasure-house God has stored up for you in Heaven." And etc.

Not likely.

Some previous positions, such as being a Christian, turned out to be wrong, but there isn't much in religion beyond hocus pocus and deception.

I'll stick with Humanism and Science, both of which lack dogma and are willing to reevaluate their positions if the evidence warrants it.

Of course. Anything else is just foolish. How could anyone possibly KNOW that their religious belief is right?
