While living this life ,a person faces many day-to-day problems n the answers to these problems frequently remain unaswered.

Hinduism was given the name it has now by Muslims, the original name is Sanatana Dharma or Bhakti Yoga.If a Hindu ever had a FORMAL argument with somebody who was anti Hindu or against our religion as a whole, you and I as well as everyone else following Sanatana Dharma know very well that the debate would mean an effortless victory for the Hindu person.Even high priests of other religions, the most intelligent athiests would be defeated effortlessly by a Hindu who knows what he is talking about.
At school I am ridiculed about my faith, mainly from Christian kids or Sikh kids (you might be familiar with the whole conflict in 1981).
But in science, our teacher asked the most strangest question,it was written on the white board "what is truth".
What did the kids of these so called "superior" religions say?
"Um...uh...truth is not a lie"!!or "How am I supposed to know"!?
This was an honors class, the teacher asked me the question and I answered:
"Truth is the absolute and the eternal, for eons man tampers with it,and everytime it turns into untruth, truth cannot be fully obtained by man, only time, the creator of time, the wittness of all reality material and spiritual knows the truth, truth is indestructable because it is eternal and no matter how much humans bend it,it will always be a part of the eternal creation".
I got some claps and some kids said "He stole my answer" but the teacher said "magnificant"!Now tell me how was I a "primitive cow worshipping Hindu" able to answer that?
If those kids, some of them who ridicule me actually consider their faith superior cannot answer that simple question, they can't even come to one millionth of a percent of Hinduism. Not that I do not respect them, its just that they do not know how to follow their own faith, their faith does not teach them properly, only the prohhet lived a noble life but the knowledge is barely passed down and is blurred.
Why do we as Hindus (followers of Sanatana Dharma) believe the world is in the condition it is right now?Its Kali Yuga, the world will always be in chaos at this point in history, and it will only end in 432,000 years. Why do we believe India and the world declined?Parikshith Maharaj was the emporer of the world, but was cursed by a Brahmana's son and died, and eventually society began to collapse and Kali took over the world, morals began to fall, and the true result of the battle of Kurukshetra began to show up.
So the Upanishads,Vedas,Puranas and various other scriptures had to be written down,so that human kind can have preserved Vedic texts. And obviosly it worked,we still have the scriptures, but they are not even followed.
But the magnificance of the Vedas can be seen slightly in the misunderstood version of the Vedic scriptures,4000 years ago,Vedic astronomers were able to say that the Earth was not flat, that the planets revolve around the sun, that the stars are suns, that the Universe was created more then 6 billion years ago, that the rays of the sun travel at light speed, the smallest measurement of speed being the time it takes to cross an atom etc.
All this was done when the Vedas were slightly misunderstood, and yet at this time, western kind had not even invented religion. And even after 2,000 years, western kind believed the Universe was created 6,000 years ago, that the Earth was flat, the Universe revolved around the Earth, that stars will fall on the Earth when god comes back and countless other things they never tend to bring up when they make fun of Hinduism.
Here is another interesting fact,108 is our sacred number, the diameter of the sun multiplied by 108 is the distance from the sun to Earth in miles. The diameter of the moon multiplied by 108 is the distance from the moon to Earth in miles. In Hinduism we used numbers like 10^65th while western civilization struggled to even have numbers of the ten thousands.Just look at the amazing intellect found in the Bhagavad Gita, the Srimad Bhagavadam and countless other scriptures, its not comparable.
We are critisized because of the caste system, but do they not know who brought in the caste system? The British and the European invaders! All we had was a social system where all were to respect each other, the Brahmanas (teachers),Kshtrias (warriors, kings and leaders),Vaishyas (owners and managers) and Sudras (workers).
The invaders from the west brought in the hatred and the caste system. And our beautiful civilization was ruined by their conception of the all mighty, their views of hatred, genocide, persecution and destruction.
Yes Hinduism is the ultimate religion,it is religion itself, the foundation of all other religions.

Hinduism is "Purity of Race" and is therefore racist and racism is like rape. Only an Indian of Indian parents can be a Hindu. The Half Hindu is an outcast and is called "Dogla" which means "Bastard". Hinduism is a caste system that denies human rights to the lower caste. Hinduism has hundreds of thousands of Gods and they worship rats and monkeys and the cow as their mother so you can come cleaner than that or forget it. The God of the other race is known as Rawan and the annual Ramleela ceremony ends with an effigy of Rawan, the other dominant race in whatever society, being burnt after being left hanging for the week of celebrations. That definitely cannot be the ultimate religion but the ultimate disgrace to human kind. Allahuakbarr!

It is a ultimate religion because it is not stagnant. In all these centuries there has been different doctrines, schools of thoughts emerging and being accepted with great respect. May it be the thoughts of Pujya Pad Shri Aadi Shankaracharyaji or Param Pujya Mahaprabhu Shrimad Vallabhacharyaji... The followers are open minded for time to time updations of philosophies. And all have the same basic root for their doctrines - BrahM Sutra by Bhagavan Ved Vyas. You can worship a deity or Nirgun Nirakar BrahM, formless virtuless God. Hinduism's most appealing concept is "Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam" - the whole Earth is a family.

Yes, Hinduism is the ultimate religion. It gives the gist of life in terms even a commoner understands. The doctrine of Bhagavad Gita... given to humanity by Lord Krishna in the battle of Mahabharata is without a parallel. Bhagavad Gita contains everything that is worth knowable by a human being. The knower of Bhagavad Gita becomes the knower of all!
Hinduism is full of sacred scriptures. Bhagavad Gita contains the gist of all. In the earlier years of human life when no religion existed... a period of time about 3600 years before from now when neither Lord Krishna, nor Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or prophet Mohammed were even born... the humanity still survived!
It was Dharma that made it all possible. The definition of Dharma is, "Your right to do what is just and right and not what was destined". The seed of Dharma is ingrained in every living being by birth. Religion or no religion... every being would survive! In absence of Dharma... the whole Cosmos would fail.
What is Dharma, what is our relationship as a human being with insects, plants and animal life, what is the real meaning of life, why have we come unto this Earth, what is a soul, what is God Almighty, what is big bang theory, what is Heaven and hell... every explanation is given in the Sacred Bhagavad Gita... the foremost of all Hinduism scriptures.
It is Hinduism because of which India has been is and shall always be the spiritual master of the world. This position of India exists from times immemorial. It was destined by God Almighty. Nothing in mankind can change this situation. India carries the same weightage as of a backbone in the body. As the human body cannot survive without a backbone... the humanity also cannot survive in absence of Hinduism. More on hinduism religion - http://www.godrealized.com/Hinduism.html

Your question is against the grains of Hinduism. Hinduism is a synthesized religion which has come up in present shape due to interaction between a large number of communities. It has evolved to a very high plane of spirituality, considering the issues, which are beyond the mechanics of a number of organized religions. It has been a rational and accommodating religion where a few hardliners are trying to ape the culture of extremists from some organized religion.
A rational and syntesized way of living will never speak the language of 'the best' or 'the ultimate'. Please let the Hinduism remain what it is - humankind's inward journey to spirituality.

The truth is no religion is complete or ultimate including Hinduism. No religion can offer you complete knowledge. No religion can make you 100% pure. All religions of the world have made promises which are never fulfilled. They give procedures to mankinds which are so difficult to follow ultimately makes us tired, unworthy and guilty.
All religions have so many good things to say yet they are not complete and ultimate. Here I am not denying any religion however telling all religions are worth knowing, understanding and following only the things you agree upon. With so many religions mankind is not perfect, still like is slavery, misery and attachment.

Who killed St Thomas an apostle of Jesus…………….is it a crusaders (Christian) or terrorists or imperialists or racial abusers. Who abolished Buddhism in from India…How many Buddhist suffered in the hands on Hindus 2500 years back, history is the proof. The thing is Hindus never had an opportunity to do… Given an Opportunity, they would have done exactly the same thing as crusaders and terrorists.
If you want think your religion is superior because there are crusaders, terrorist and imperialists in other religion. Then you have terribly mistaken Buddy.
Friendly, in my mother tongue Tamil religion is said like “Madtham” which means madness. No religion is ultimate. However to grow spiritually one have to come out of the love for their religion. Only then, he will have the openness to grow spiritually.
So I would no Hinduism is not the ultimate religion? However, it has valuable insights, which many religions do not have…
Thanks

While it is true that Hindi is a primary religion, it did take on certain aspects of both Buddhism and Islam when different factions of those beliefs took over their country.
This to me is one reason it is a good religion, because it can encompass this type of thing and remain strong and not break into warring factions.
Buddhism is a good "life philosophy". One of my best friends in New York is a Zen Buddhist instructor and she has taught me many things. It makes me question some people on here though who claim they are Buddhist, because it is a religion that encourages love and tolerance to ALL people. Some of you will know the ones I mean, who spout venom and poison and hate towards all Christians...they are yet to be enlightened or are only posing as Buddhist.
Some good can be found in most religions. One big benefit to being a more liberal Christian is that I am free to incorporate many things into my own worship and belief of God, without putting God in second place to another God.

Hinduism is modern name for Sanatan Dharma- the eternal religion
Due to narrow-mindness or due to bad publicity of westerner media, many misunderstand hinduism
Hinduism is not mere idol worships, strange rituals, temples animal like gods etc. these things are more Indian in culture having philsophical background
There is nothing new in any religion which Hinduism has not already revealed.
That z why Hinduism never calls other faiths or prophets as false. Hinduism never condemns non-hindus to hell becauses Hindus know Truth is being followed by different paths
Christianity is based on Bhakti Yoga...and our vaishnavite bhaktas are like christians just instead of Jesus the surrender to Krishna/vishnu
Karma yoga is observed by muslims with local changes. Karma yoga talks of surrender to god and follow his order.
Sankhya yoga is the back bone of Buddhism
Pagan and wiccans are following Tantra path of hinduism with local variations
Even Atheists are following hinduism, as Sankhya yoga of hinduism does not talk of any personal god, heaven or hell.
So Sanatan Dharma will remain as long as civilised human societies remain.
Yoga meditation and Mantra yoga are the biggest gifts of Hinduism to the humanity... and I foresee more and more people following Yoga for the ultimate evolution towards Divinity.

The greatest religion in the world is the religion you find peace with God.
Those that have attempted to find the negativity in the Hindu religion have not understood their own religion.
Those that have no problem with the vision of the poster are truly wise.
God is Good. It is men (not religion) who make up the Bad in Good.

Does Hinduism seem like a good religion? Maybe and I respect your opinion, but when there is something like the caste system (Yes that is hindu) that is still prevalent today I don't agree with at all. The Caste system keeps kids from a decent education, and then lets families starve because they are considered to be at the bottom of the totem pole. Then you watch a human being that is considered to be less than dirt kicked in the middle of the street by strangers, while no one will touch a cow? Respect for human life? I don't think so, far from ultimate. Hinduism is more than yoga I'm afraid.
