why couldn't he build a religion that doesn't require monetary contributions to create and support it's churches?

Nothing should be more than enough to create a church, right? So should't churches be springing up out of the ground without human intervention? It's a lot smaller than a universe, and should take a lot less time to create. Why wouldn't he sprout christian churches in Islamic neighborhoods, on top of Islamic churches, without human intervention? He loves us right?

I read in my history class a few years ago that the church sold relics to raise money for their catherals by telling people that if they bought them, they would spend less time in purgatory or wouldn't have the need to (Depending on how much they were willing to pay)
So I was just curious as to what the story behind this was and how it originated

The more we learn, the less need we have of "god" to explain things (example, Then: a rainbow is god's promise not to flood the earth. Now: a rainbow is sunlight shining through water droplets).

So, belief in god is stronger for those that don't know as much about the world. Is this what god wants? It seems if god existed, he would want us to be smarter and learn as much as we can about our world (evolution, big bang) which should somehow bring us closer to him (but doesn't). Instead, belief in god seems to require denial of knowledge. How can this be reconciled?

Like the Nordic vikings who make-believed that lightning and thunder was Thor's racing chariot. You haven't raised your consciousness enough so the only thing that fascinates you are all-powerful, superhero gods.

Shouldent God had just left them alone if he gave them free will, imean if God was testing thier obedience to him then was he a liar about free will? because if free will comes from a personal choice, then why did God get angry when they disobeyed him? He gave them free will, he should of been responsable for their actions.

As usual, my friend and I we were discussing religion and the meaning of life. Basically, she said that God is why she is here and what makes her truly happy. My agnostic self responded, "Well, aren't there other things to live for? Like love, or happiness, or peace?" She said these things are all important, but that "They mean nothing without God." I felt hurt for a second, but then I just felt bad for her; falling in love should be more carefree than that. And she should have a level of happiness and peace within HERSELF. (When I said this, she looked at me like I was crazy). Also, I was sad to learn that night that she believes that Christians should only marry other Christians. (No big surprise, but way to limit yourself, my friend). It's interesting how Christians always speak of the strength that God gives them, when all they're doing is seeking approval and looking for the correct answer to everything. Which is pretty weak.

Do you believe that love isn't real without God?

If life is part of "creation" then DNA is the blueprint or design. However, today, after a mere 4000 years of human civilization, humans can manipulate genetic information to create totally different species or forms of life. Right now agriculturalists have crossed tomatoes with...FISH to create a more frost resistant veggie.

Why would God allow humans to essentially take-over the life design business? The only thing stopping us from crossing monkeys with birds are regulatory agencies. We can clone humans, or design them as we chose...isnt the creator now usurped?

Seems to me, if there was a God creator, he would make it such that his creation couldnt take over the business of creating.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I beleive in an ever-loving God. The story of Adam and Eve doesn' really promote that.
Take for example when Eve is "born" from Adam's rib. That makes no sense! If it's true, then why aren't men giving birth from their ribs?
About the whole thing how Adam eats the apple and chokes on it, leaving an "Adam's Apple" on some men for the rest of their lives. First off, if you choke on an apple, you die! Second, why did the same apple bite come out on some men? Third, When's the last time YOU took a perfect circle-shaped bite out of an apple?
Also, just because Adam and Eve did wrong, doesn't mean we all have to face the "punishment" for what two people did. Like, say you get an F in Math, because of it, your mom says "You and your children, and your children's children, and your children's children's children's children's children will pay!!!". Does that make sense to you?
I'm not saying Adam & Eve aren't true, i'm saying their tales are a bit odd

It's odd, but I keep swaying between Wicca and Christianity. I'm not asking for anyone to tell me wich religion to choose, I'm for for something that might help me decide for myself.
