Shouldent God had just left them alone if he gave them free will, imean if God was testing thier obedience to him then was he a liar about free will? because if free will comes from a personal choice, then why did God get angry when they disobeyed him? He gave them free will, he should of been responsable for their actions.

If Adam wasn't created sinful, then he already had the capability to obey God, which is what free will in the theological sense concerns. He lost that ability in the fall. How much, is where Pelagianism, semi-Pelagianism, Arminianism, and Calvinism come in.

Did you know Adam blamed God for making women. Take a look at Genesis four. second free will would mean a choice between obedience and non obedience and with a choice then you are just a puppet. The tree made it possible for them to have a choice. He wants people to follow out of love and respect for Him not because they have too. No choice no oppositions.

It is like you have a choice when you go in a store to buy it or to steal the item you want. If you steal it then you pay the consequence when you are caught. Just like murder you pay the consequences when you are caught. Do you think paying for the crime is wrong or is a good rule. Well being kicked out of the Garden was punishment for sin as well as the punishment of death. Not just a physical death but a spiritual death if you dont' believe in God. See it is very simple belief or unbelief. Your choice or free will to do so. No one but you are responsible for your choices.

You are not a parent are you? If you were you would not ask this question.

Don't think so? Parent: Do not play with that (insert item) it is not a toy. The child has free will to obey or not to obey. The parent knows best and hopes that a mere warning will suffice. If they obey they are rewarded in various ways or they are punished for their disobedience. If they are not punished then the parent does not love their child.

As I have told other people. God might have given his children the fruit at a later time if they had remained obedient. We will never know and that is our punishment along with a crappy messed up world.

He did give them and us free will. They could have obeyed or disobeyed and of course God was disappointed that they disobeyed but he was not surprised. I think he put the tree there in the first place to challenge us and to perfect us while we are here. He didn't make them do anything and he used what they did to make us able to become more like him and become perfect one day.

The principle works even in your own household. You tell your children what they can and can't do. Now if you have children, you know there will be a test of wills and usually they'll do what you told them not to do. What's your response to that? Do you smack them dead or let them continue to play with the power outlet? No, but there is a price to pay. You can figure out the rest from here.

God provided a circumstance in which they had to make a choice of right or wrong. They were free to choose to eat of the tree or to listen to God and not eat.

free will, under an all knowing god, is just an illusion of free will
if god knows everything, then god knows the future
if god knows the future, he knows what you will do in that future
if he knows what you're going to do in that future, you can not do it any other way
your choices, while they may seem like choices to you, have already been made.
you are just following the script for your life that can not be changed.

God did not want Adam and Eve to sin. God knew ahead of time what the results of sin would be. God knew that Adam and Eve would sin, and would thereby bring evil, suffering, and death into the world. Why, then, did God put the tree in the Garden of Eden and allow Satan to tempt Adam and Eve? God put the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden to give Adam and Eve a choice. God allowed Satan to tempt Adam and Eve to force them to make the choice. Adam and Eve chose, of their own free wills, to disobey God and eat the forbidden fruit. The result – evil, sin, suffering, sickness, and death have plagued the world ever since. Adam and Eve's decision results in each and every person being born with a sin nature, a tendency to sin. Adam and Eve's decision is what ultimately required Jesus Christ to die on the cross and shed His blood on our behalf. Through faith in Christ, we can be free from sin's consequences, and ultimately free from sin itself. May we echo the words of the Apostle Paul in Romans 7:24-25, “What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God - through Jesus Christ our Lord!”

Because my God is a jealous God and he wanted them to obey him. And by testing their will he was not lying about giving them free will that doesnt make sense to ask that. Had he been lying about it he would not have allowed them to eat of the fruit. And as I recall it was not God who tested them it was Satan himself.
