I am a muslim female who dress like the average american female..recently I have accepted Islam as the faith that I want to follow. I think the Quran is so beautiful and confirms what has been revealed in pervious books. Why is that when I say that I am muslim and read the Quran that other muslims call me kafir because I don't accept hadith? Why can't I be muslim and not dress in hijab or the traditonal muslimah dress that they consider me not muslim?

If you can answer me ...then this would be geat!

I politely said to her that as an atheist I would be unable to fulfill the duties of "godmother" in the way they were intended and that I would feel more comfortable if she found someone who was as spiritual as she is or at least spiritual at all to be named as godmother. She seems a bit miffed. Any suggestions to help smooth this over?

then advocate harm or death towards the President? If they don't agree with his politics, fine. A lot of people don't. But, isn't it hypocritical for a muslim to say how peaceful islam is and how it is the only "pure" religion and blah blah blah, then say that someone should kill Bush or they hope he dies 10 mins later? To me, that shows the true intent of muslims and what islam really is about. It is about peace between muslims, but that is all. And while there are 1.4 billion muslims or whatever and certainly they are not all terrorists, polls show that well over 90% of muslims support attacks against americans, civilians or or otherwise. so if a muslim isn't beheading someone, then they are cheering on someone that is beheading someone.

Billions of impossible events had to take place together for just one eye in a living thing to form. The blind process known as coincidence: It first opened two holes of the requisite size and in the best possible place in the skull, and then cells that happened by chance to find themselves in those places coincidentally began to construct the eye.

If you put a carved stone or wooden idol in front of these people and told them, "Look, this idol created this room and everything in it" they would say that was utterly stupid and refuse to believe it. Yet the greatest scientific explanation for the world is "The unconscious process known as chance gradually brought this world and all the billions of wonderful living things in it into being without planning".

In short, these people regard chance as a god.

"Keep one thing forever in view--the truth; and if you do this, though it may seems to lead you away from the opinion of men, it will assuredly conduct you to the throne of God."

Genesis 1:3 says "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light." The first reference to stars is Genesis 1:14 "And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years", yet Genesis 1:12 says, "And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good." So where did the light come from before the stars were "created", and how did the plants live without the stars to produce the light? As most people who took any basic biology course know, plants need light for photosynthesis to produce glucose. Why does the Bible view the moon as a source of light? Genesis 1:16, "And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also."

I'm also curious how many people take this account literally.

I'm an atheist, and I work a lot with young kids. In my country I'm not used to seeing religious children. I've never heard a child talk about Jesus or whatever.

We're moving to the US soon, and my guess is that I'll meet much more young children that talk about Jesus.

With adults, I can treat them with respect, but still argue with them if needed. With small children it's different. Argueing with 6 year old kids about religion would be rather silly and do more damage than good.

But I have no idea how it will make me feel. I always felt that children should be raised free from religion, until they are old enough to make their own choices. But, that doesn't happen much on this planet.

So, when having to deal with young children, that talk a lot about God or Jesus, how does that make you feel? What do you do?

(No lessons needed here about religion, I'm simply curious about how it makes you feel...)

Not the cat lol. Let me explain.
It was late friday night, and my boyfriend and I went to walmart. As soon as we pulled into a spot, I saw this black and white cat. It was rummaging through a mcdonalds garbage bag on the ground. It was looking for something to eat...
I burst into tears, my heart broken. You see, Im an animal lover like no other. I cant stand to see stray animals. Hungry, thirsty....its just so sad, it breaks my heart, and I feel physical pain. I just wish I could help them. Anyways, it was obvious I couldnt go into walmart now. I was a mess. Then I thought maybe I could run in and get him some food, and hed still be out there. So I cleaned up a bit, and called to the cat. He ran. He didnt trust me. How would I get close enough to feed him? My boyfriend told me to forget it, there was no way the cat would be there when I came out. Still, I just had to try. So I waddle to the cat food (im 9 months pregnant) grab two cans of soft food, and go to check out. Well......

1. A man and a married couple have devoted their lives to helping the needy. They have never met each other before, but end up sitting on a plane together. The couple tells the man they did not preach Christianity while doing good deeds when the plane starts going down. The man, who has been telling the couple that it is a sin not to spread the gospel, is still admonishing them as the plane goes down, with the couple screaming at him something like, "Shut up! Can't you see we're going to die?" The plane crashes, and the three people are before god for judgment. The couple goes to hell and the man goes to heaven.
2. A man has cancer and everyone he knows who is not Christian abandons him while a Christian teaches him about god, and suddenly, miraculously, all his pain disappears. Of course, all the non-Christians were depicted as low-lifes.
There are more, but I can't remember them.
I used to find them beautiful, but now I find them disturbing.
What do you think about them?

Im sorry if this seems like a stupid question. But I was wondering if the bible mentions space. I just hate science trying to explain everything, sometimes it puts doubt in my mind. But then I think, if god created the earth, does it say anywhere he made space too? If it does, I would feel much better. This may not make sense. Sorry.

Is there anything in particular i should do? I'm female, so please consider that when you answer...

1) I don't own a hijab, should I buy one? Or will it be okay to just wear a scarf over my hair?

2) Will there be someone who I can talk to about Islamic religion who will be willing to answer questions?/Will there be some sort of religious education class?

3) Should I wear long sleeves and pants?

4) Is there any specific color I should wear?

5) Will I have to worship in a room separate from the men?

6) What day/time should I go?

7) Should I skip the makeup?

I'm going to the Mosque on Mill Ave. in Tempe, AZ, so I would appreciate answers regarding this particular Mosque, but I'll take all the help I can get! Thank you! :)

Does God "rule" or does he "guide"?

Many say that he guides but then every other argument seems to prove that he "rules" people's lives.
