The Catholic church is still an outstanding moral "compass" to the world, regarless of what religion a person is. It is difficult to gauge the tremendous effect this must have had over the last 20 centuries. And that is a basic part. The Catholic church has also argued on behalf of women's rights, children's rights, legal systems... etc... etc...

The world should be grateful for what they have been given and not just gloss over it for a few things they percieve as totally negative without exploring the circumstances.

Interesting question!!! Well lets see I work in the Prison system in California where the Hispanic population is
the predominant population. Many of the sport tatoos of the Virgin Mary. Most have no knowledge of the bible or the plan of salvation. Many are suckered into Mormonism and Jehovahs Witness because they have no knowledge of the bible. They cannot even quote John 3:16.
Sadly to say many do not even know the God of the Bible
because they are to busy praying to the Virgin Mary or some other saint. On many days that their infants are baptized this occasion is used to eat like a pig and drink beer the Godparents for the most part how could they possibly help the baptize child when they have no knowledge of the bible
all they have is TRADITION ONLY.
If you asked them when were you converted? When did you accept Jesus? They would not even know how to answer that question which makes me believe that they have no personal knowledge or relationship with Jesus.

I can tell you presently that a lot of people are getting help coming to the U.S. from the Catholic Church. There are Catholic immigration aid centers, including one near where I live. New arrivals are given clothes, food, whatever they need when they come to America. A lot of the locals don't like it, but the Church sees it as a humanitarian gesture.

Kept it in bondage to its paganism and dictatorial governance. Interestingly, the only representative government has come in with the atheists. It shouldn't be that way.
