When I look at the long list of seekers who reportedly achieved some degree of "perfection", I see a lot of men who were isolated and alienated from the societies that gave birth to them.

Off the top of my head: Jesus, Buddha, Lao Tzu, ascetic gurus, nuns, monks, priests.

With very few exceptions (Mohammed and Confucious) striving for "perfection" seems to lead away from human relationships and towards isolation from humanity.

Why?

While those who live by grace alone are free from having to follow any laws ?

(Matt 10:5-6)--- Jesus sent out these 12 after giving them instructions: "Don't take the road leading to other nations, and don't enter any Samaritan town. Instead, go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

(Matthew 15:24) He (Jesus) replied, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

They claim it to be just a story or up for interpretation and not to be taken literraly?

This goes for all believers in all faith.

It's simple. You are either pro baby killing or anti-baby killing. Christians are not into baby killing.

Now, please go ahead and write your twelve paragraph explanation as to why baby murder is cool. It's not, but I realize it's useless to talk to you about it. You've already talked yourself into it.

It's just, you're not a Christian if you are into baby killing. Very simple, really.

Will any of you Christians actually take a stand for once and admit it? Or are you all of this porn generation?

I thought that it was better to be poor and I remember getting an answer from someone that mentioned in the bible, jesus taught for his followers to sell everything they owned.

Then there is the old "it is better to be poor on earth and rich in heaven"..don't worry I understand the analogy behind that.

But I can recall many times that it was taught being poor was better. Or just not super wealthy.

Or are you going to claim that this too was just open for interpretation?

I've noticed a few questions implying that Jesus was gay, or referring to the claim that he was.

Now, I don't know what Jesus's sexuality was like; I don't think we have anything like enough evidence for most of these personal aspects of his life. But here's my question: if Jesus had been gay (entirely hypothetically), how much of a difference would it make?

Now, please don't answer to tell me he wasn't, because that's not the point. The question is hypothetical: if you were somehow presented with evidence today that proved to your satisfaction that Jesus had been more attracted to men than to women (again, try to imagine), how would that change your view of him? Would it make what you believe he taught and did any less noble? Would it make them in any way more noble?

How would it change your beliefs, whatever they are?

IN everything I have thought of, there is no god.
1) If God can do anything, why is it that he cant walk in the presence of sin?
2) God created sin. He created Satan, who tempted Eve, who was able to sin. He created Sin.
3) How is Satan still alive, or whatever? If all sin is destroyed in the presence of god, why isnt satan gone from his thoughts of sin when he was still in heaven?
4) God is not everywhere. Otherwise all sin would not be.
These are just a few.

Time is perhaps our most valuable resource. Time spent is a reflection of the importance you put on things.

I really don't remember dreams all that much, but this one last night made an impression on me. In the dream, I met my late mother, who passed away on May 21, 2005, and she said, "We'll be together soon." Should I be packing my spiritual bags?

It seems that all the different groups of Christians (Catholic, Protestant, Fundies, Churchless, etc.) all have very good points about why the other ones are wrong in their beliefs, so can we conclude that they are ALL wrong in their beliefs?

Some people assume Jesus was gay. I think that's rather silly, but everybody is free to believe in whatever god they want.

I'm straight, but I will never feel offended if somebody calls me gay. If that would offend me, it would mean I would look at gay people as 'less than myself', or else it couldn't offend me. So, I fail to see why a sexual preference could be concidered an insult.

So, we have religious freedom, and we have the fact that all people are equal, whether they are straight or gay or whatever. We also have the fact that discrimination is a bad thing.

So, in a society that has religious freedom, how can it be blasphemy to believe that Jesus was gay?

Or, to put it differently: in a society with religious freedom, isn't every belief blasphemous towards somebody else's beliefs?

At least when un-believers are insulting they only insult beliefs.
The majority of the time at least.

But christians call people stupid, ask if they are dumb..etc..the insult on a more personal level..Or try to at least.

And why is it that all the newcomers don't understand when a question is meant to be a rhetorical, funny question..Not one to be taken so seriously?

Latest Ex: Do christians get acne the way regular people do?

!. one left a bible quote
2. one asked if the questioner is dumb.

Do you feel the need to change others' beliefs? Just curious.I, myself do not think that is possible and quite frankly, wouldn't want to try.

I would love to see this country become biblically based. Only then will we not have to worry about school shootings, rape, murder, etc.

I'm not even going to get into how this country was founded, and what principle's it was founded on. All of these Bill Clinton types will spend the next 25 hours lecturing me on how Thomas Jefferson wasn't a Catholic. Like that even matters.

No. This is about getting the lord into our homes and our hearts. Our schools will allow this gay stuff to be talked about, but not a bible study.

Think about that for a minute, you people. We can have Timmy walk around in a dress, and that is "his right" and we should "give him a cookie". But if you want your children to actually be literate on the bible, the source of life, you will be lectured and taken to court.

I spit on these silly liberal notions.
