At least when un-believers are insulting they only insult beliefs.
The majority of the time at least.

But christians call people stupid, ask if they are dumb..etc..the insult on a more personal level..Or try to at least.

And why is it that all the newcomers don't understand when a question is meant to be a rhetorical, funny question..Not one to be taken so seriously?

Latest Ex: Do christians get acne the way regular people do?

In case most of you sarcastic beings didn't notice....I did not say that non believers arent insulting.

I simply pointed out that more often than not they resort to other methods of insultation.

Of course we insult you on your faith. Please read the question

Thank You.

Gera-
right, only Christians call people stupid.

I have seen many Christians called stupid for simply having faith. I think you need to acknowledge that there are members of all groups of people who will stoup to name-calling instead of trying to argue a point.

I think most people would agree that the acne question is ridiculous (not a serious question).

PLEASE READ THE QUESTION IN IT'S ENTRIETY.

All you did was say in a different way everything that I said. I should report you for being a copy cat.

I am a new Christian, but I am a normal person. Christians that criticize are simply baby christians "newbies" and get all defensive when people ask questions. I ran into alot of these peeps when I was searching to be one with God and it pushed me away for many years.

Just tell them this: "I realize you are probably a new Christian and truly haven't found God's love yet, but give it time and he shall show you himself to you when you are ready to completely accept his love for you".

Either this will completely set them off right away and criticize more, or they will be stunned at what you told them and walk away. But either way, they will never forget what you said to them. And when rapture happens, and they have to face God and he asks them

"Why did you not help lead this person to me and spread my word, instead your pride got in your way because you could not say "I do not know that answer myself".

This person or those people will have to face God and give him the answers.

If you haven't done it yet, find God and open your heart and spread the word of Jesus Christ our lord and saviour.

Don't take it personally. Ask all the questions you want without apology and someone will answer you.

Good Luck!

Edit:
I did not realize that was what you were saying. I read your question in it's entirety and that was not the impression I got.
You said that un-believer only insult beliefs and not people, whereas Christians insult people. I just think that both sides insult people equally, and that is not what your question said. I guess you did not realize I was being sarcastic in my first line. Perhaps I should have been more clear about that.

I can't agree with you, I'm afraid. In the last few days, non-believers have called Christians and Muslims "retardarians," told us that we're all ignorant and uneducated, and said that we're hate-filled and intolerant. Those questions weren't meant to be rhetorical, and they certainly weren't funny.

I think I've got just about as good a sense of humor as anybody on this forum, and I get a giggle out of questions that people like Godzilla and AFLAC ask. Those are meant to be funny, and my answers aren't always completely reverent by some people's standards, either.

But when someone insults an entire group of people just because s/he hates their religious beliefs, that's no longer funny. It's called bigotry, and it's wrong, no matter who's doing it or why.

Well, I must admit that many Christians do insult other people and I for one am one of those who could actually hurt other people's feelings. But in my opinion, Christians are not the only ones who are insulting. I am quite sure that some non-believers or other faithfuls also can be insulting once in a while. But I am sure that most of the times, we do not really mean the mean things we say. As long as we say sorry to whoever we hurt, then we can start a new.

God bless! Always!

I find it insulting that anyone treats others that way. I too, am tired of those who put down each other's beliefs (whether they be Christian, Muslim, Wiccan, antagonist, Agnostic, or whatever). It's no one's right to do such a thing, regardless of what you believe our "rights" are. People should learn some self control and realize that diversity is what makes the world go round. If we all believed the same things, there would be no need for religion or the like. Peace out.

Maybe you have not read yet the part which they were named with an IQ lower than that of the ants.
Athiest do not just insults beliefs too. They call Christians much worse than what you said.
Do not fall blind to what is really happening. Both deserve each other's name calling.
I am not a Christian (I am totally against their deception) and I am not an Atheist either. Both have my respects to the people but I am objective as far as how I see them doing things against each other.

Do you know they are Christians?
Maybe they are Agnostic and that is the purpose for their personal attacks?
Or maybe they are just like everyone else - and use the Internet for a bit of fun, poking fun, or just being childish once in a while. Nothing really wrong with it I don't think, but at times there seems to be too many people being too weird.

Of course, the Internet and ANY public type forum, only lends to bring people in that are in need of something or have complaints about something.

How many people would post: I'm having a great day, how about you?
Not many...
But many people will post: My life stinks, or Today is HORRIBLE, or THIS TV SUCKS..etc etc.

Get it?

I don't know. We are only human, and sometimes get tired of the rhetoric. Just like anyone, we let our guard down and lash out. It shows a lack of maturity, and misunderstanding of their faith.

In regards to nonbelievers being insulting - they insult more than beliefs. It gets aweful personal from both sides.

I'm not saying it is right, nor is it an excuse. If they believe that they have a higher calling - then they need to answer it, and listen to that which they believe.

The vast majority of the insults I have read have come from the non-believer's side.
Yet, some Christians have given in to insulting back, maybe from anger.
I think what it is , is that we take our God and beliefs very seriously, and don't like it at all when they are slandered, misrepresented, or when an attempt is made by someone to make them sound ridiculous.
And of course- having God in your life is no safeguard against acne.

I think some people get tongue tied and don't know how to answer others questions and the other is when people insult Christ or try to make him seem less then he is, It is the equivalent of saying something bad about say your father or mother ( that would get anybody mad). I feel that Christians need to control that because it doesn't reflect well on Christ but we are also humans and are not perfect either.
