Some people assume Jesus was gay. I think that's rather silly, but everybody is free to believe in whatever god they want.

I'm straight, but I will never feel offended if somebody calls me gay. If that would offend me, it would mean I would look at gay people as 'less than myself', or else it couldn't offend me. So, I fail to see why a sexual preference could be concidered an insult.

So, we have religious freedom, and we have the fact that all people are equal, whether they are straight or gay or whatever. We also have the fact that discrimination is a bad thing.

So, in a society that has religious freedom, how can it be blasphemy to believe that Jesus was gay?

Or, to put it differently: in a society with religious freedom, isn't every belief blasphemous towards somebody else's beliefs?

The thing is, a lot of the most strident and vocal members of His fan club...really hate "sinful" gays, um, I mean, their sin. So that's going to grate on their nerves. I can't help but notice that whenever people claim that their God was offended, it really means they themselves were offended.

When we make assertions of someone's belief we must make sure that they are accurate and not distorted. Whether Jesus was gay or married with children is not a matter that is addressed in Holy Scripture. My thought is that since Jesus held true to the Law, he would have adhered to

Lev 18:22
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination.

Its not blasphemy, just insult.

And insulting such center piece people in a faith is sometimes the equivalent of insulting someones mother.

You know, you can get killed for insulting someones mom is certain parts of the world: Italy for example.

The right to insult freely is not the same as the right to speak freely.

For one thing, some people will take it as an insult if you called a gay man straight.

I simply think God is capable of watching his own Divine back enough to where only what I believe matters to me. Who am I to question the thoughts of someone who could walk on water?

I agree with you.. and furthermore who cares if Jesus was gay or not? It says little about his character whether he was straight or gay.
