Seriously. I've kind of had it with a lot of the sections on here. People are way too defensive. I'm just wondering if anyone can change my mind about leaving.

"LDS" or "Mormon" in the question?

I've noticed I do, and was wondering if I was alone in this. For the most part I have stopped searching for "Mormon" questions, but I'm not saying that's a good thing or a bad thing. But if I come across a Mormon question, or one is asked or starred by one of my contacts, I usually at least go see it.

Why can Evolution be taught in school, but not religion? I consider evolution a religion, because it a theory of how we were created, but most religions are how we were created too. So why can evolution be taught in school, when religion cant, even though evolution is basically a religion?

‘Christ according to the faith, is the second person in the Trinity, the Father being the first and the holy Ghost the third. Each of these three persons is God. Christ is his own father and his own son. The Holy Ghost is neither father nor son, but both. The son was begotten by the father, but existed before he was begotten--just the same before as after. Christ is just as old as his father, and the father is just as young as his son. The Holy Ghost proceeded from the Father and Son, but was an equal to the Father and Son before he proceeded, that is to say before he existed, but he is of the same age as the other two. Nothing ever was, nothing ever can be more perfectly idiotic and absurd than the dogma of the Trinity.’----- Col. Robert G. Ingersoll

One god sends another down to earth. The god on earth prays to the god in heaven. The god in heaven is pleased with the god on earth. The god on earth says that the god in heaven is greater than he (the god on earth). The god on earth says he will later send a third god down to earth. The god in heaven forsakes the god on earth. The god on earth dies and goes to the god in heaven and sits by his side. That is polytheism for sure, one hundred percent. You can call it whatever you want, but it’s polytheism pure & simple.

And who here wants the world to continue on no matter what?

I do not wish for the world to blow up, but I do pray for Jesus to return as soon as possible...I don't see the world getting better because I see more people in pain divided, lonely hurting than I have ever did before..
We might have been able to create technology to make our life easier but we have not created human beings that are any happier.. People are more unhappy having everything they have now in a material sense than when they had less..

One Millionaire was asked, now that you have all this money are you happier? He answered no I am not, frankly I was the happiest when I had to de-frost the refrigerator and I played in the Sprinklers during the summer. Thoughts?

Hi Christians! I want you to know I have nothing against you and I respect your right to your religious views. Please remember most atheists are actually very nice people who care about humanity.
My question is, imagine that you had been born before the era of Christ. What religion do you think you might have practiced?

"This universe/life is amazingly complex or complicated. It must have been designed. The designer was God."

What do you think of this argument? Is is valid? Why or why not?

Well, maybe a little overstated, but since you're here.....obviously, the 'religion and Spirituality" section is dominated by a religious perspective, almost entirely Christian. While this isn't seen as a bad thing, it's also clear that there are many others here who don't fit the religious mold or at least are flexible and open to other ideas.

I would roughly categorize these folks thusly: Spiritual seekers, philosophers, free thinkers, agnostics, athiests who have not devoted themselves to being religiously anti-religion, belief systems that are more open ended rather than dogmatic, and certainly not excluding any open minded person.

Since I don't lump spirituality and dogmatic religious beliefs together, my interest in this forum is intermittent. Until Yahoo starts to get the message as well, my suggestion is that those of us with a question relating to spirituality, flag those questions for others by prefacing it with "Spirituality:"

Who might be interested in that?

What are your thoughts on Hauntings?
Where do you stand on the whole Ghost thing?

Like the Amitiville Horor (sorry if a spelled it wrong ^_^)

Do you think it was just a bunch of people getting together to make a good story, or do you think there might actually be "something" that made them believe it was haunted?
Like something in the water that caused delusions ^_^

Thanks!!!
