Is it because the book says so? I know alot of people believe everything they hear but dont we call that being gullible? Why is trusting the bible any different? If I wrote I have $12mil in the trunk of my car, most people would not believe it but I could actually prove that. Whereas jesus people believe but it can never be proven. What is in you that makes you trust this book?

I met a guy online and greatly love him. We plan to meet and see
where we go from there. We sometimes tell each other questions like " did
you fall for someone else?" or "how about all those boys/girls you know?We are
very interested in each other. The problem is , that sometimes he
disappears for days offline. I send him messages and he doesn't answer
and then he goes back online and then we are very in love again. I
don't want to cheat on him(if it would be even cheating). My conscience is
always telling me to not talk to other people. The other day, I
went on his highfive page and discovered he added another girl. I don't
know if there is anything between them or they ar just friends (i to
have friends that are boys on highfive). , would it be a sin to check
out this girl's profile just to see if he speaks to her and other girls
like the way he speaks to me? I'm not at all a stalker . I just want to
know who that person really is so I don't up being hurt

I get it when I fall asleep, and when I least expect it. Almost always at night, and doesn't matter which position I'm laying in, it will happen. It's always evil things, I don't visually see things, but I feel...most of the time, and hear at times. I've heard footsteps in my room, heard voices a couple times...But mostly It's feeling things, like hands grabbing my ankles, choking my throat, and prying open my mouth. It's hard to not be frightened because they aren't usual hallucinations, if that's what they even are...Which I don't believe. Everytime it happens, I feel that its some kind of demon, or demonic force, because thats just what goes through my head, and because of the things I experience point to that, i.e. a voice saying "Can I ask you something about your pathetic God?" and the prying open of my mouth, in a mocking fashion to take my soul from me. Any advice please, I don't feel this is a psycological issue, but I could be wrong.

Salvation. The person said, "i hope we will be saved" in a way that led me to believe the person was not sure"

I have a lot of verses on the assurance of salvation and how to be saved and all, but i dont know how i could start off the conversation. I know the person is not sure they are going to heaven, so that could be a talking point? But I am not sure how to go about revealing all of the scriptures concerning the issue.

Should I just be like "Oh, you said a while back you blah blah" or "wanna read Bible together?" I dont know. But im really preparing for this, and I am really wanted to give this person the piece in Christ Jesus.

Please only Christians who can help with ideas.

Thank you

G

I mean something that had a huge affect on the entire course of your life - which college to go to, deciding to quit your job out of the blue to travel the globe, moving to another country to pursue your career, those kinds of big risky things.

This isn't technically related to religion, but I know I'll get my share of "choosing to accept Jesus Christ as my lord and savior" blah, blah, blah. So comment away.

Mine is probably going to be giving up my full time job to move out of state and pursue a law degree full time, racking up tons of debt in the process.

I am not so interested in the root of religeon but in the different angles of it .there are many forms of christianity practised around the world and was interested to know which one considers itself closest to true version of your God`s wishes, is it
Roman catholosism
UK protestants
Greek Orthadox
Russian Orthadox
Methodists
Church of England
Quakers
7th day
Mormans Church of the later day saints
Jehovahs Witnesses
Armish
Evangelists
Christian Science
New Life Christians
etc etc ? you can`t all be right otherwise there would be only one . If you say that they all preach the same gospel then why have different versions

This event was never listed by the ancient historians such as Josephus who listed Herod's crimes, all lesser in cruelty than this supposed event.

Of course, I mean a conservative Evangelical Protestant Christian version of everything, which is not the same as all Christians.

I'm thinking in particular of GodTube, a Christian answer to YouTube. (http://www.godtube.com) Did YouTube ban Christians from posting or something? Why is this needed? This is almost as ridiculous as Lily, a short-lived Christian home decorating magazine I saw.

Will a Christian answer to YA be next?

And seriously, *why*?

Along the lines of free will, do we choose to have a life here on earth? Or do we not make that decision? That seems like the most important free will choice we could ever make. Do we get the chance to make it, or does God decide that for us?

It seems like a pretty blatant violation of free will if we don't get to make that choice. If we do, then are we alive before we are physically born? How does that work?

That is, if you believe in those things (God, free will, spirit, etc.)

Thoughts?

As a Catholic I believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. When speaking with those who do not believe in the real presence, I have heard them say that Jesus is present only symbolically, but not in a real way - real flesh and real blood - in the form of bread and wine. How is it possible, as a bible believing Christian, to believe only in a symbolic presense? After all Jesus said:

"Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me." John 6: 53-57.
