Parsecs is a system of measurement based on the rotation of the night sky through out the year. It determines the distance a star is from the earth. Considering these stars are billions of miles away, how could light possibly have traveled to us in 6 thousand years. Also, the bible says that the stars were created after the earth.
"Redshift" is a phenominon in which when the light spectrum of stars are measured, they tend to be on the red side of the color spectrum. This means that the stars are moving away from our galaxy, and in the big scheme of things, a common origin (a.k.a, the site of the big bang)
