I am having severe doubts about the truth of the LDS Church and want to see what other Mormons think about antimormon claims before I decide to leave. I think it's only fair that I should listen to both sides before making my decision.

I try to live life to the fullest by relishing every moment as it is. I try to learn from what I perceive to be good or bad and try to see the "what is, is" of any situation. Acceptance for me is the answer to life. No judgements, limiting preconceived ideas until that fact is inherent in my bones, and with the needed flexibility to change constantly. I try to "practice what I preach" in all situations. I need to Love and Serve others. Without doing that, I am fooling and lying to myself about who I am. Life is difficult, but oh so good.

Namaste

Peace and Love

Okay so I die. I go to heaven or hell. But it's my choice (or so I've been told by many Christians). So I choose heaven. I mean who wouldn't? Why do they even have a hell, who's choosing hell?

Oh you meant I choose by my actions here on Earth, well no, no that's not how I choose. That's like saying I chose to pay $1000 to get my car fixed because I didn't get the oil changed often enough. No, when the car breaks down I had the choice to get it fixed, or not..........that's free will, the heaven and hell stuff, is not a free choice, it has restrcitions and the one who make the choice would seem to be God, therefore NOT free-will!

I am told if you do not turn from your sin, you will not go to heaven...so:

obese people, who die never turned from their sin and will go to hell...the majority of the U.S. is obese...so, the majority will go to hell, because gluttony is a sin, and your body is a temple of God.

Divorced/remarried people are committing adultery according to the Bible...(Luke, 1 Corinthians 6:9) If they are not celibate in their second marriage...they are going to hell, for they never turned from their sin...The divorce rate is over 50%...even among pastors..

People who steal by not repaying credit card debt, or filing bankruptcy are not repaying their, loan, so are breaking the 10 commandments by stealing...Again, a large percentage of the population..if they do not pay it back, they will go to hell for not turning from their sin.

And of course, you guys say gay people are going to hell...10% of the population...

So, who is left? Will there be anyone in heaven?

“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:”
“And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book”. ---- Rev 22:18-19

This is a severe warning to the Israelites to not change the revelations because the Bible is not guaranteed to be free from human corruption/changes.

If the Bible was to be protected from change by divine decree then this warning would not be needed.

That is why both the Old and New Testament and the Torah have gone through so many changes over the centuries and you can see the difference if you look at a 100 year old bible.

This doesn’t mean the Bible is not scripture…. It just means that not every word is guaranteed by God to be exactly what was revealed in the original form and therefore you cannot say it is the infalliable word of God.

1 Kings 7:23
Read it and weep.

The circumference of the circle is 30 cubits, and the diameter is 10 cubits. As Circumference=pi times diameter, according to the Bible pi is 3.

3 does not equal 3.1415.... and if we used the Bible's value of pi in NASA's calculations we would never get off the ground.

AS SEEN ABOVE, THE BIBLE IS NOT INFALLIBE, NOT THE WORD OF GOD. IT IS ERRONEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!

What kind of God demands sacrifice of a child (yes, I'm speaking of Abraham in the Bible), and only as his father holds the knife over him, God says "Psych! Ha Ha I gotcha...you really don't have to do it"

I mean that is cruel and unusual punishment.

Yet, this Christian God is worshipped as just and loving?

I just found out that Joseph Smith wasn't really a prophet and I want to know if I'm overreacting.

If you found out that Joseph Smith wasn't really a prophet of God, would you leave the Church? Why or why not?

This question was asked hypothetically.
Almost everyone said that they would indeed go to heaven instead of being with their child in hell.

Why is there no unconditional love towards humans anymore? It's usually just toward a religious supreme being.
If more people could love humans the way they supposedly love Jesus and/or God, would the world be a better place?

Why do Christians believe that a medical condition can exist which justifies Ritalin or Proszac...?
to alter your mind...

and that a medical condition can exist, which causes a person to be obese...therefore making mind altering medicine and obesity not a sin...

But, Christians don't think that homosexuality can be biological?

What gives with the double standard of justification of what is and what is not biological?

I have come across websites that seem very factual. They explain the many similarities in the characteristics of Jesus and Horus. I have heard a lot of these things before, and I know they are true. I believe that Jesus never existed and that he was created as a part of a new religion, a religion which adopted almost everything about it from Paganism. And leave things from the Bible out, as I think the Bible is just a fairy tale book.

Could the Bible be wrong?

This question is obviously intended for Christians, but other faiths are welcome.
