Very lonely and scary. I suppose for an atheist who has never known the love of God it isn't a big deal. But to be a Christian and then become an atheist , it has to be very scary. Like not being able to breathe and feeling your life slip away as you grasp at empty air trying to stop the endless falling.

It would be very depressing, lonely, and I'd be despairing. I mean if there is no God, then the only person people can rely on is themselves, then that is scary because we are so unreliable. People who believe in God can turn to Him for strenght, courage, etc.
And, it is wrong to say that if all Christians thought they would become atheists. Maybe, if atheists thought they would become Christians instead of just saying religion is primitive. Some people such as Lee Strobel and Josh Mcdowell were atheists but then did some research and became Christians.

Free of guilt over living a life without the constraints of having to believe in, or put your trust in anything you cant see, feel or touch.
No worries about whether you are going to hell if you steal that cookie, cheat on your wife, beat your kids, or thrive on sexually deprived acts.
It is the freedom to be exactly who and what you want to be without any reservation.
But then when i go to bed at night i have the security of knowing that someone is watching over me while i sleep.
If i don't make it through the night i have the security of knowing that this is not the end.
They have the security of knowing that their lawyers will divide up their assets and give them away to people who wont even remember them hardly a year from now.
Welcome to the oblivion and darkness or welcome to the light of God.
I choose God.

If I had never been a Christian, I would think that I was normal.
I suspect that I would constantly be curious about the supernatural, though, like UFOs, clairvoyance, faith healing, reincarnation, etc., because the superficial nature of science isn't enough to explain life, and everyone knows this instinctively.

I don't know, maybe I'd be on YA bashing other's beliefs like so many atheists here do. Sad to think my life could become nothing more than that though, just a waste. Nope, don't wanna go there.

Frightening...Although I have admittedly come very close to not believing...I think it would be akin to drifting at sea with no wind, no map, and no compass, going wherever the current takes you. Sure that may sound exciting to the adventurous types, but I prefer to not smash into the big pointy rocks in a storm...
how's that for analogy?

Sad...how sad to believe that there is nothing to look forward to after this life. It must be awful walking around believing that after you die you're just worm food. If I thought that every time someone I cared for died I'd be a very sad person indeed. Thank God I am Christian and will get to see them in heaven again someday.

I'm an ex-Christian and now an agnostic-atheist. My life from before until now hasn't changed due to my change of religious belief. Aside from the obvious, like I don't go to bible study or church anymore, my life is the exact same. I wake up, shower, get dressed, go to class, eat, etc. I would say my life is just as good, if not better (I don't have to feel guilty, or unworthy anymore).
