Yet another person who does not do thier homework. Sorry sweetie but comparisons have been made with manuscripts well over 1,000 years old and guess what?????? They match!! Actually the Bible is the most well-documented book in the world. This argument has actually been given up by most serious Bible haters because it has been so thoroughly disproven. But uhhhhhhhh you go right ahead and see if you can get a changed version out there without a huge outcry from Christians everywhere. Ain't gonna happen. And by the way for everyone who has tried: the verses that you quoted wait for them in the end. Glad it's not me. Sorry had to add one more thing, some of the comparisons were from manuscripts dated to before Christs birth written on ivory. Go to some archeological sites and look them up. Simply fascinating how the Word of God will not be silenced.

The writers of the bible had this "fool proof" idea.... Let's put something in there that says "the bible MUST NOT be changed...." so that way when people read it they'll think "Oh, it's serious... this must be the literal translation from when it was written because the translators would face certain doom if they changed the book.
Just another trick to attempt to add credibility. That's why the christians always say "the bible is gods word because it SAYS it is god's word!" wrap your mind around that one for a bit!

I agree. I understand what you are saying about the inclusion of a warning would only be needed if there was a risk of changes either by intentional or accidental means. I believe the Bible is the word of God as originally given, but that through the translation mistakes and transliteration mistakes some of the true meanings have been changed or altered. It still provides great guidance to those who seek to follow God.

"This is a severe warning to the Israelites to not change the *revelations* because the Bible is not guaranteed to be free from human corruption/changes."
First of all it is the Book of Revelation, singular.
The warning was to NOT change the Bible as some false prophet would, not because there was no guarantee that it would be free of corruption.
Infallibility does not turn on fruitcake logic.
Better luck next time Skippy.

I agree... and as the people above said that it says not to change it does not mean it has not been changed... if it has not been changed then why are there so many versions of it? every time some one disobeys god a lighting does not hit them... People do bad things and those people especially the highly corrupted Catholic Church did change the bible to fit there needs, and to get power....for god sakes they wrote in one version of it that selling indulgences for future sins is k, that version was called back though because thats just retarded.
Quran is the only Holly book that has not been changed and the only reason is that people all over the world have memorized it cover to cover so even if some one does change it they would be caught...... As known Quran is the only holly book people can memorize by heart.....
If you don't agree and say that people memorized Bible then which version of it? there are 1000's of versions of it.......

18-19 These verses should not be taken as a warning against adding anything to the Bible. They are primarily a strong warning to false prophets not to alter the sense of John's prophecy in this book, either textually or in its moral and theological teaching (cf. 1Co 16:22). So severe is the danger he is warning against that John says that those who teach contrary to the message of Revelation will not only forfeit any right to salvation in the Holy City but will have visited on them the divine judgments ("plagues") inflicted on the beast worshipers.

What is your point? The old testament of today is not the same as the original Hebrew Bible. This is an obvious fact because #1- The original bible was in Hebrew, #2- it has been structured for the human mind to comprehend. The Quran has also been changed because it was not an original. The Quran was taken from scriptures in the Bible, from aspects of Hinduism, and other religious places that were suitable to the prophet at that time.

Those who add to or subtract from Gods word to justify their theology are violators of the passages mentioned. Specifically, a few examples are Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, and Mohammedans.
God promised to preserve His word, not our language. Our languages have changed but Gods word has not.
The quoted passages from The Revelation are to humanity in general: "any man" not just the Jews.

You added the letter "s" to Revelation...that's just wrong!
Oh and by the way...the Word of God is 100% perfect. There is no other book under heaven that I would trust more than I do the Bible.
Go ahead, call me a fool...a fool for Jesus!
As for men like Wescott and Hort who have come along and changed the Word of God to their liking...well, they'll get what's coming to them.

God sends warnings to us through the Bible due to the fact that we are infallible and can try to make His words out to be what they are not, and add to what He says to satisfy our selfish, prideful ways. EVERYTHING in this world will pass away- but the word of God will never pass away. Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever.
