I try to live life to the fullest by relishing every moment as it is. I try to learn from what I perceive to be good or bad and try to see the "what is, is" of any situation. Acceptance for me is the answer to life. No judgements, limiting preconceived ideas until that fact is inherent in my bones, and with the needed flexibility to change constantly. I try to "practice what I preach" in all situations. I need to Love and Serve others. Without doing that, I am fooling and lying to myself about who I am. Life is difficult, but oh so good.

Blessing

Namaste

Peace and Love

Thank you 宮本 武蔵 for your picture painting. Are you good at Haiku also?
And thank you for the knowledge gained.
For the reat of Y/A:

Miyamoto Musashi (Œm±¾ ÎäÊi, c.1584 ¨C June 13 (Japanese calendar: May 19), 1645?), also known as Shinmen Takez¨, Miyamoto Bennosuke, or by his Buddhist name Niten D¨raku was a famous Japanese samurai, and is considered by many to have been one of the most skilled swordsmen in history. Musashi, as he is often simply known, became legendary through his outstanding swordsmanship in numerous duels, even from a very young age. He is the founder of the Hy¨h¨ Niten Ichi-ry¨± or Niten-ry¨± style of swordsmanship and wrote The Book of Five Rings (Îå݆•ø, Go Rin No Sho?), a book on strategy, tactics, and philosophy that is still studied today.

Living in the present moment... being happy with the present, and living life like there's no tomorrow, doing our very best to cultivate our minds... perhaps, that is how I interpret living life to the fullest :-)

Being in touch with reality is the way of life and living to the fullest, as there is not preconceived ideas, views or prejudice.

I don't know how to explain it but I'll paint you a picture.

A small vase is only capable to fill 50ml of water and it's already living "its" life to the fullest.

A larger Vase that has filled with 150 ML of water is already living its life to the fullest.

However, a pile of raw clay doesn't have any form to contain anything at all. Infact , it's almost useless if not made into a vase or plate.

Useless ? think again... Without Clay, there would be no Cup, Vase, or Plate. So, how is being a raw clay useless and not living it's life to the fullest?

The answer is pretty simple to those who knows what I am saying.

A clay is a clay until you make something out of it. It's neither useful nor useless. A clay is everything and nothing, it's earth, water, soil and a mixture of elements.

Why should we concerntrate life on one little thing when we can open ourselves to so many other posibilities ? why live a life of a cup when you can live a life of a plate?

If you want to live your life to the fullest, don't be a cup, vase , or plate. Instead become a Clay (nothing and everything).
If there is no self, there is a whole lot of possibilities.

It depends on how you define "fullest." By my understanding, fulfilling our responsibilities and duties is a rewarding part of a full life. Otherwise, if you do all that you can to make yourself happy, you are living a full life. What you define as happiness is your own business, by the way. As long as you are not hurting others or hurting yourself, you are entitled to the liberty of living your own life as you see fit. A man free to live alone in a cabin in the woods can have just as "full" a life as a person who spends all his time running for pleasure. The two simply define happiness in different ways.

Well, I don't try to live life to the fullest (but I'm not lying about it, either). I stay here on Y!A because I need more human contact, and that makes me feel happier, but I feel like I am not living my life to its fullest potential. I think if I did what you do, though, I probably would be.

To live my life to the fullest, I think I would spend more time with my kids, playing with them, singing songs, talking (that is fun - I love talking!). I wouldn't get mad when my 2nd eldest didn't listen to me (I'm a Gemini... I hate it when people don't listen!). I would keep my house clean so that people can visit me whenever they like. I would stop eating so much and only eat what was good for me. I wouldn't be afraid to be who I am ... but somehow I would also be loving. Then I think I might be living life to the fullest.

I'm making slow progress... I spent about two hours yesterday, talking, singing and playing with my daughter, and I was pretty patient with everyone, too (but I shouldn't have eaten all that chocolate, when no-one was looking!)

Well, that's enough from me. Now I'm going to read everyone else's responses. (((hugs)))

I wonder what I could possibly add! Beautifully stated, complete. I agree with everything you said, except perhaps "Serve" others, which may be just a matter of semantics. Be sensitive to, help, care--love. I'm more comfortable with those words. For some reason, "serve" has certain religious overtones. I shall look it up! Thank you for the question.

Living my life to it's fullest, I wish that I did. Every day I am caught in the avalanche of my own mind. Bills, my boys, my girl, that tasty bit of ice cream in the fridge, all run thorough my mind.

I do find a moments of peace. There are people who need my love, and I am able to give it. There is fullness to my life, but is not as it could be.

I know I can be silent in my own mind. I know the world can pass through me like a river, boundaries are meaningless then. I know that is my full self, and it is only there on rare days.

Life is Life, living it we experience good, seeing good, experiencing bad we see bad, experiencing neither good nor bad, we see neither good nor bad, this is living life to the fullest.

Living life in the happiest sense on the other hand requires us to experience Life in another's shoes requiring Wisdom and Mindful effort, the results are worth the effort. Some seek happiness others chase it, yet others are indifferent, why not provide it..?

Peace from a Buddhist...

I try to live life to the fullest by being myself and enriching the life of those around me. I don't have to worry about some big guy in the sky ready to smote me down at any second. I live with what I got and take things as they come. I'm doing quite well, thank you.

That's cool. I also try to see past my original judgement of things, and work not to judge things as bad at all. Most importantly for me I go with the flow, and things usually turn out good from that, and it makes dealing with the hard stuff easier.
