I agree that it is idolatry. There's just no way around it. It's as if they think that God has too much to do to listen to them, a faithless approach if you ask me!

By the way, according to Matthew 6, prayer IS worship!

Yes, you are right. The New testament is the manuel for knowing how to pray and who to pray to and never once does it point to blessed Mary or any other Saint for our answers to our prayers. You are a child of the living God and He himself is your father to talk to and why go to someone other than Christ who has been raised from the dead for the answers to life? What better fellowship we have to talk and walk with God and receive divine guidance each and every day until He calls us home with Him...

You go girl! I have been trying to get this point accros to my catholic friends, but they don't understand. They have their own bible and it is different than the other bibles. I feel the same about confession to a priest. Why confess to a man (although he is a man of god) the bible says that you should confess your sins to Jesus to get to God. I have often asked - do the priest have a rule book regarding the specific sin or do they go by what they feel? If you dont do 10 hail mary's or 5 our fathers like the priest told you to, does that mean that you are not forgiven. They can't answer me. By no means, am I condeming the catholic religion, these are just some questions, that I have not been able to get answers to. I would like to educate myself on different religions. To answer your question, I do believe that it is considered idolizing. Just my opinion.

Yes it is.

Jesus said to ask for anything is His name.

God desires a relationship with us, so that means fellowshipping with Him in prayer.

Not all Christians pray to saints or Mary.

Yes it is Idol's and you really shouldn't do that.
The only way to the father is through Jesus Christ the bible says. So ask your prayers in the name of Jesus Christ and then the true God hears your prayers.

Catholics don't worship Mary and the Saints, we ask for their intercession by asking them to pray for us and those souls in purgatory. THe Blessed Virgin Mary is the closest to Christ, and through Christ's mother, we can reach Christ (GOD). Asking the saints to pray for us is like asking other people to pray for us.

Jesus said "pray like this, 'our Father which art in heaven"...
Jesus said "if you ask anything in My name, and believing, it will be done".

Nowhere in the bible does it say we are to pray to anyone but God, through His Son Jesus.

In 1294 the church adopted purgatory and a few other almost hells to sell indulgences. The idea is that if you pray then you can get them out of purgatory or where ever, but it was all something made up by Dante in his Inferno

Everybody who posts a question here would like to ask a question. Please make your titles more descriptive.

It's just a different belief; they obviously believe those they pray to can help.. You do know that different people believe in different things, right? Some of us don't even believe in your jesus at all! (gasp!)
