Fulton J. Sheen
One of the unlikeliest successful television personalities of the "Golden Age" in the 1950s was a Catholic clergyman named Fulton Sheen. He was on a small network with few affiliates as a throwaway program slotted against the hugely popular Milton Berle, but caught on and became one of the most popular figures in the country, even drawing admirers from among those who dislike Catholicism. While never really becoming a major figure in the hierarchy of the Catholic church, Sheen was one of its most visible members and an excellent ambassador for the church to the secular world.

Fulton John Sheen (May 8, 1895—December 9, 1979) was an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He was Bishop of Rochester and American television's first preacher of note, hosting Life Is Worth Living in the early 1950s on the DuMont Television Network.
Sheen was born in El Paso, Illinois, the oldest of four sons of a farmer. Though he was known as Fulton, his mother's maiden name, he was baptized Peter John Sheen. As an infant, Sheen contracted tuberculosis. After the family moved to nearby Peoria, Illinois, Sheen's first role in the Catholic church was as an altar boy at St. Mary's Cathedral.

He was a Catholic Bishop (and later Archbishop) that had a radio and TV show - the only religious program to win an Emmy - back in the 50's and 60's.

This brakes my coronary heart, For i'm Catholic, I in no way will think of approximately my church like this, or the different church homes in that count. i've got faith God is familiar with His church and who's genuine of their faith. i'm a Catholic and here i'll stay as a Catholic and that they could hate me too. I continually will think of anybody who's a real believer is the guy who walks with God. Who am I to choose different church homes of their ideals. that's the devils paintings and He continually will attempt to make Christians hate Christians of their faith and yet downs. I want everybody might in basic terms be chuffed interior the call Of Jesus God Bless
