For the most part, yeah. There can be a lot of misleading information out there about the Church that people are curious about, and the best way for them to find out for sure is to go straight to the source, so they ask specifically for LDS/Mormons themselves. As a lifelong LDS, I'm always willing to share knowledge about my beliefs to those who are curious. It's interesting to see different perspectives and answer questions that people may have.
Some aren't worth answering, though, because the person asking is simply asking to try to ridicule our beliefs.

I don't make it a point to search out the questions with LDS or Mormon in them, but I do look at the questions either asked or starred by people in my network to find some.

I click on the questions having to do with Mormonism, but have tired quickly of all the negative and misled replies to the doctrine. There are some that continue to believe we take more than one wife in marriage and are quick to make snide comments about the topic.
I heard a speaker in Stake Conference recently saying there is no need to prove the Book of Mormon right because the proof IS IN the Book of Mormon. Naturally, all do not believe this because they don't want to be bothered at reading the book. Others take a half-attempt at reading it and come away secure in their doubts because that was their initial stance--to doubt the Book of Mormon.

I may no longer qualify as a 'fellow', but I have a couple of theories about mormons on Yahoo Answers.
1. You're curious. Even the most true-blue hardliners have always had a question that never got answered satisfactorily in priesthood, sunday school or seminary. You know for a fact that some questions are explicitly taboo from asking in church, yet you are compelled to come here for some kind of answer. Many are surprised of the intensity of the "anti" sentiment that still remains.
2. Its anonymous. No one can ID you as exposing yourself among the apostates and infidels, and you don't really have to confess this to you bishop - yet, at least. It becomes tantamount to a 'Walk on the Wild Side' without getting hurt, sort of like looking at brassierre advertisements. I suspect there will be a specific GF talk that will address this practice as satan-inspired, and you'll have to deal with that aspect.

I look at a lot of them, but I do not go searching for questions with "Mormon" in it. If I happen to be online and catch a question, I usually answer it. i don't go back looking at all of them I might have missed, however

Nah. I'm on the verge of pretty much stopping the whole Yahoo! Answers thing. I'm pretty tired of it all. Everyone just takes things personally and doesn't really answer anything. I don't look at every LDS question. To me. they're all pretty much the same.

I type "mormon", "mormons" and sometimes "lds" and "latter-day saints" in the search area. In advanced, you can specify only open questions.

Used to look at almost all of them, but I've been busier at work and writing a play. I figure people can start looking at answers that have already been posted over the past year if they really want information.
