Well, maybe a little overstated, but since you're here.....obviously, the 'religion and Spirituality" section is dominated by a religious perspective, almost entirely Christian. While this isn't seen as a bad thing, it's also clear that there are many others here who don't fit the religious mold or at least are flexible and open to other ideas.
I would roughly categorize these folks thusly: Spiritual seekers, philosophers, free thinkers, agnostics, athiests who have not devoted themselves to being religiously anti-religion, belief systems that are more open ended rather than dogmatic, and certainly not excluding any open minded person.
Since I don't lump spirituality and dogmatic religious beliefs together, my interest in this forum is intermittent. Until Yahoo starts to get the message as well, my suggestion is that those of us with a question relating to spirituality, flag those questions for others by prefacing it with "Spirituality:"
Who might be interested in that?

Yes, Bravo. This seems to be ego heaven, and so no real seekers of Truth. I think that's probly right.

Hmmm.. It's an interesting idea. But.. firstly newcomers may take some time to get the "Spirituality" idea. Secondly I have found some great answers in the 'unlikeliest' of places.
So on balance I'd be inclined to leave it (flawed though it may be) as it is. I have found that the 'Network' thing works quite well. I can link to people whose questions and answers I find interesting.
But in order to find these people I often find I have to search a bit. Taoists answer Christians' questions. 'Seekers' philosophical ones. And there are some people who may not class themselves as 'spiritual' but none-the-less give excellent thought-provoking answers. Even to 'religious' questions!
So I don't mind a bit of searching. I find the occasional glint of gold well worth the work. But that's just me.

To my mind we cannot ever understand who another human being is until we have taken the time to listen and try to see what it is we are being asked to share.
We ask questions about the greater meaning of life and others answer us with their ideas. Everyone has a different point of view - yes, even the ones that belong to a particular group - we all have a mind of our own in the end. Religious persuasion is not important .
We have the choice of questions to answer - some appeal to us and some don't and i'm sure every one of us who try to put their ideas forward are themselves seeing something anew for themselves as well.
Equally as the asker, we also have the choice of which answer works best for us - there might be no answer that resolves the issue for us - that is when maybe we need to put more thought into the question and ask ourselves why we asked it in the first place - maybe it was not phrased the correct way to get a satisfactory response or maybe we had our correct answer all along without having to involve others. Questions are posed in the first place to gather in ideas that we may not have been aware of.
Sometimes the most NEGATIVE response is the one that encourages the most thought and the ongoing questions.
And that is good i think, because the journey to uncover who we are and how we fit into the greater meaning of life is an eternal journey that only a passion for questioning and finding answers will fuel.
( people vote for an answer that they like but sometimes the ones they don't like are the ones that stir up the most emotion). In the end we have to start asking ourselves why ..........don't you think?

I'm not in favor of this. Overall I think this Q&A forum is barely worth the time. 90% (rough estimate) of the questions here are loaded by authors who seem more interested in trying to make a smart-@$$ point rather than actually looking to educate themselves. This goes for the atheists and the religious alike. Personally I hope the fundamentalists and the atheists go to war and eat each other. Then we might have a rational discussion. Until such time ... yawn ...

Divide and conquer, or lose, comes to mind. I doubt your proposal will be too well received.
For all the petty animosities aired, far too many people are entrenched in the status quo.
Anyway, where's the fun in asking a question if I can't then receive lashings of criticism for my views from the fundamentalists of both the Christian and atheist camps?
It makes R&S the 'fun' place it is...

I think that's an excellent idea. I'm Mormon and a lot of us here will pose a question to other Mormons by including the word Mormon or LDS somewhere in the question, that way when searching it is easier to spot. I'm a long time supporter of subsections within this R&S section, so until YA officially does it, I think your idea is a wonderful one. Good Luck.

this may mean a important interruption in Federal help and tax funds being spread round. So, human beings stuck interior the "conservative" section might want to do what they could to flee with the intention to stay interior the more advantageous industrious, economically-developed, "liberal" aspects of the rustic. in the different case, the rustic is transferring ahead with loads of social liberties besides. So, the conservative element will lose their electorate on that the front as well. So, i imagine a large exodus from the pink States to the Blues States. human beings calling for refugee status to flee, and so on.

It dosen't matter as long as religious nuts keep answering serious questions in the Science and Math section with "Gwad done did it!!!", serious questions in the psychology section with, "Trust in the Lawrd!!" and serious questions in the History section with "If it taint in de Holy Bible, it dint happen!!!" you can be rest assured that the rest of us will continue to flock to this group to let you know that it is all make believe.
