Anyone who keeps a gun as a means of self-defence, lives in fear, and usually refuses to admit it. If anyone wants to shoot you, he won't give you a chance to get your gun out, so your gun is useless.

Let's be honest.... most people have a C+ high school science education, and they've forgotten much of it by age 30.

If civilization were bombed back to the stone age, maybe 1 in 10,000 could recreate a microchip, or plastic, or get Ibuprofin from a tree in the rain forest.

And if the world WAS blown back to the stone age, I don't think we would start giving scientists the third degree as to what they knew, or didn't know. Most likely we'd be thrilled that a few smart people survived, and we'd be happy just to get our light bulbs back on.

So when did you all become such experts in biology, physics, chemistry, genetics, paleontology, geology, and astronomy that you can flippantly dismiss the expertise of people who are (let's face it) light years beyond you in education, and who've often devoted the better part of their lives attempting to factually uncover the origins of humans for no greater reward than to simply advance the sum total knowledge of the human species?

What a crime!

I'm 18 and only 168 cm tall (5'6) without shoes on. Most of that height is my upper body, when i sit down i'm the same height as all my friends. I even get girls to like me this way, but when i stand up my short legs ruin my height and all of a sudden im shorter than everyone else and the girls are like "whoa ur short".

My legs are the only bad things about me.. Besides them im very happy with myself because i have a good face etc but because of my legs im short and it makes me angry.

Why did God disadavantage some of us in life? Some people get so much more

ts at them? This isn't the wild west. Noone gives you a chance to draw anymore. They just shoot you, particularly if you have a gun. A gun is useless, unless you want to shoot a bunch of students yourself.

It's obvious that religion is forever stuck in the past. It can never evolve, unlike science which is always evolving. Isn't it benefical as a species to figure out how the world and universe work? I believe that religion has run it's course, it's time for a "new" religion, called Science.

“In some respects, science has far surpassed religion in delivering awe. How is it that hardly any major religion has looked at science and concluded, “This is better than we thought! The Universe is much bigger than our prophets said, grander, more subtle, more elegant. God must be greater than we ever dreamed”? Instead they say, “No, no, no! My god is a little god and I want him to stay that way.” A religion, old or new, that stressed the magnificence of the Universe as revealed by modern science might be able to draw forth reserves of reverence and awe hardly tapped by conventional faiths. Sooner or later, such a religion will emerge.” Carl Sagan

Yesterday when news came out that the VA shooter had the word ismail ax on his arm, people were quick to jump to the conclusion that the guy was a muslim and this was another act of islamic terrorism.

today, the news is that the guy came out with this statement,

"You thought it was one pathetic boy's life you were extinguishing. Thanks to you, I die like Jesus Christ, to inspire generations of the weak and the defenseless people."

so now, people are quick to defend that killing people was not the teachings of Jesus and how Christianity is all about love and so on. And how one persons action is not a reflection of the religion.

My question is, dont you think its hypocritical that when Muslims say that about Islam, people are quick to dismiss it as a bunch of crap? Isnt this the same thing that Muslims around the world are saying about terrorism?

Imagine the same Almighty God who created every thing in the universe and who keeps the laws of gravity balanced between the planets and keeps the earth from drift into or away from the sun as a baby in your womb.

This is what the Blessed Virgin Mary experienced.

I posted a question a while back and a Jehovah's Witness answered. He/she said something that I found very odd. They claimed that Hell doesn't exist and that it is a pagan concept and that the Bible does not talk of such a thing. Now I'm not a Christian or a Biblical scholar... But I recall a great many locations that Hell is discussed. Jesus talking of going where the fire is never quenched and what not. I believe the word Hell was even used exactly. (Not just referencing to it, but actually using the term.) I'm curious as to how an idea of Hell not existing can be held when the Bible blatantly speaks of its existence. Thanks for your reply!

2.) We must also follow Jesus' example to get into heaven

Seperately created from all other lifeforms, appearing as two fully grown adults as told in the story of Adam and Eve.

Or....

Evolved from a single instance, connected with all life, not only on this planet, but with every other form of life in the universe.

Carl Sagan once said that "Evolution was better science than Genesis" That about says it.

Millions of people have had psychic and spiritual experiences. These people are from all walks of life, all cultures and different centuries. Yet give similar accounts to each other. Thousands have been tested and studied using modern technology and found mentally stable, physically fit, not lying or delusional. Indicating that their expereinces are what they say. Miracles have occured after faith healing, prayer or some type of experience which can not be explained by science. Yet science has often rejected these observations and test results while accepting as fact other things for which they have far less proof. Believe it or not the nature of consciousness is one such example. It can not be scientifically explained but theories about it are often presented as fact even though scientists know these theories are incomplete and flawed.

By now everyone in the western hemisphere has heard about the virginia University shootings where 32 people were gunned down. It has been hailed as the worst school shooting in American history but CNN has failed to mention one thing about this TERRORIST. HE WAS A CHRISTIAN AND HIS FAITH INSPIRED HIM TO KILL. i am sure if it were a Muslim student CNN would have had a field day! So...do you think I am lying? Here is the proof. He sent a pacage to NBC before he died and in it he states
"You thought it was one pathetic boy's life you were extinguishing. Thanks to you, I die like Jesus Christ, to inspire generations of the weak and the defenseless people."
here is a link to the story if you still dont believe me
