Yesterday when news came out that the VA shooter had the word ismail ax on his arm, people were quick to jump to the conclusion that the guy was a muslim and this was another act of islamic terrorism.

today, the news is that the guy came out with this statement,

"You thought it was one pathetic boy's life you were extinguishing. Thanks to you, I die like Jesus Christ, to inspire generations of the weak and the defenseless people."

so now, people are quick to defend that killing people was not the teachings of Jesus and how Christianity is all about love and so on. And how one persons action is not a reflection of the religion.

My question is, dont you think its hypocritical that when Muslims say that about Islam, people are quick to dismiss it as a bunch of crap? Isnt this the same thing that Muslims around the world are saying about terrorism?

You are 100% correct.

No one is going to say christianity is violent, they will all keep quiet but if it was a muslim, we would have had to bear & suffer the insults from the media & people.

But i guess you can't change hypocrites.

Thanx for posting this question i couldnt have said it better myself.

No one has the right to kill for their God, God does not demand sacrifice.
1 Proverbs 21:2 All a man's ways seem right to him, but the LORD weighs the heart.
3 To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
4 Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, are sin!
5 The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.
6 A fortune made by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor and a deadly snare.
7 The violence of the wicked will drag them away, for they refuse to do what is right.
8 The way of the guilty is devious, but the conduct of the innocent is upright.
9 Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife.
10 The wicked man craves evil; his neighbor gets no mercy from him.
11 When a mocker is punished, the simple gain wisdom; when a wise man is instructed, he gets knowledge.
12 The Righteous One takes note of the house of the wicked and brings the wicked to ruin.
13 If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered.

The problem was the individual and not about religion. Before when islam was out of the picture he was just a mentally unstable guy but afterwards with the ismail axe story he suddenly became a muslim terrorist. But now that its cleared up that it doesn't have anything to do with islam, he's a sick kid again. It scares me. But more than that it saddens me.....I couldn't help but cry in frustration when I saw how hateful some people are

He actually wanted it to be a muslim and immediately started jumping to conclusions

This individual who killed all those young people was a mentally unstable person. To blame all Muslim or Christians is the voice of panic in a society that is falling apart. I read one answer from a Lora P1 and read her profile she states that Muslims and Christians are hypocrites but not the religion just the people. And she is a teacher!

No, I do not find it hypocritical and it has to do with the way people as Christians and Muslims have acted prior to this action.

Plenty of Christians have come out against the war in Iraq, but for the most part they separate that from supporting the troops, our country and the desire to see everyone safe.
Those Christians who support the war also support those last ideals as well. Since 9-11 Christians (as well as Jews and other religions) almost ALL come together in the support of the United States. Except the Muslims.
On the other hand, Muslims have done nothing to prove themselves supporters of this country. They KNOW they are the ones that are the target of suspicion (as well is expected) but do nothing to say "I am Muslim but I love this country". Instead they burn the flag. How about carrying one with pride instead? A pro-American rally by Muslims in this country? Heck, just put a flag pin on your clothing. No, they won't do it. Even legal Mexican immigrants have had at least one pro-USA rally because they worked hard to achieve what they did and it angers them for others to get the cheap way out.
So I do not trust the Muslims - trust must be earned and they have not done a dam* thing to do so.

It is very hypocritical. I saw so many questions about Muslims do to the VA shootings and how bad Muslims are. Now it is "OOPS! Well he was crazy and that is not what Christianity is about." No it isn't but Muslims aren't all about terrorism either. A few bad seeds spoil the entire bunch don't they.

No Christian commits suicide thats close to being the unforgivable sin. Islam is the only religion i know that teaches killing yourself and others along with you will get you into Heaven. I dont think he was Muslim or Christian. Theres more going on with this than we will know. But one thing that ive heard is the police saw what was going on and they just stood back and let it happen theres witnesses to this. So theres something else going on with this shooting incident.

yes, it's very hypocritical.

years ago, the same people condemning the film "The Last Temptation of Christ" were the same ones defending free speech when "The Satanic Verses" (a book very critical of Islam) came out. same thing.

If all Christians were did follow the teachings of Christ the world would be much happier.

Good point. If only there weren't all that scripture in both religions about smiting unbelievers. But I agree to take you at your word.

I apologize to both faiths for taking any of that seriously. I am glad that neither faith teaches that or anything like that.
