A couple of years ago I was driving on a rural road a few miles west of Monroe, NC (Idlewild Road, if you are familiar).
I passed a small Pentecostal type church, with one of the lighted signs out front where you can move letters around to form a message.
The message stated: "Love of Christ surpasses all knowledge."
Ergo, I don't think that anyone who bases their life on religion would ever place education above religion. This will vary in degrees by individual intellectual capacity, but in general, an overtly religious person isn't going to be impressed by knowledge of reality.

I realize that people who tend to think of one religion or anyother as being the "least educated" have a tendency to report people for saying it is untrue and a reason to believe the person asking is lacking some education about other people.

IQ and level of education are two different things. Do you mean to imply mental limitation or simply inadequate education?

I am a Christian! My I.Q. is in the high average.
This is not an attack? If I believed that one I would have some problems. You are a classic Passive/Aggressive. Insult others with a sly remark. Well it didn't work!

It worries me that so many religious people are uneducated. Uneducated about their own religion, it's origins, sacred texts, construction, history, and the context surrounding the texts and construction. It worries me how unedcuated so many people are about religions other than their own. Sadly, ignorance is a choice that many make.

Dear friend, you have not learned that Jesus surrounded himself with common people, not the rich and famous. He wants humble people because Christianity is not served by the high and mighty.

Maybe, a little. But If my whole group was that dumb, we probably would not know the difference.
But, since we are not-I'm okay.
