I think most people know that holiday is derived from "holy day". Do you think holidays seperate God from the person's normal everyday life by distinguishing one day from the rest?

How do many get a personal saviour out of "Christ": "the end of the law" is thereby "Saviour of the world" God so loved? Especially if "there is no respect of persons with God"?

As for Jesus, he is only Saviour of Israel (of Jacob->Israel).

By law: all die; no salvation for any: rather extinction
By grace: all live; salvation for all: eternal salvation

Biblical Conclusion:
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Because whenever I see an evolution question somebody shouts "That's mutation, not evolution!". Well, what does 'mutation' mean to you?

In biology, mutations are changes to the base pair sequence of genetic material (either DNA or RNA). Mutations can be caused by copying errors in the genetic material during cell division and by exposure to ultraviolet or ionizing radiation, chemical mutagens, or viruses, or can occur deliberately under cellular control during processes such as meiosis or hypermutation.

Mutations create variation in the gene pool, and the less favorable (or deleterious) mutations are removed from the gene pool by natural selection, while more favorable (beneficial or advantageous) ones tend to accumulate, resulting in evolutionary change.

But thanks for supporting evolution, even if you didn't know you did.

To all those who like to refer to the evolution of new strains of bacteria as mutating rather than evolving, I suggest you learn at least the most basic part of evolution. That is, mutation occurs randomly. If it proves to be a superior trait for the survival of that species, then that mutated variation will survive to be passed on to future generations.

Evolution REQUIRES mutation to occur.

Many differing opinions, many different churches, many interpretations of any particular topic from the Bible....so, as a Christian, what do you do when your congregation teaches something that you've researched, and you find it to br falsley interpretted?
Do you approach your leader and discuss it?
Does your leader have an open mind to study this topic with you?
What if your leader won't study this with you?
I'm interested in knowing...as I have some friends who have had this situation occur. (and years ago, I was in a similar situation, and the leadership of the church, was firm on it's interpretation; which resulted in my leaving..)

I know this isn't a decision to be taken lightly but I'm considering becomig a buddhist. I've read up on the basic principles and it seems like something that would benefit me. However I don't know where to go for further advice on actually living as a buddhist. I'm not going to make this decision lightly and need to know whether it's something I could do.

Theres a story in the Quran that Jesus spoke as a baby.

Does the Bible speak of a similar story?

Details:

Quranic verse: Behold! the angels said:
"O Mary! Allah giveth thee
Glad tidings of a Word
From Him: his name
Will be Christ Jesus.
The son of Mary, held in honor
In this world and the Hereafter
And of (the company of) those
Nearest to Allah.

"He shall speak to the people
In childhood3 and in maturity.
And he shall be (of the company)
Of the righteous." (from 3:47-52)

When, after the birth of Jesus, people came to know the matter, they suspected Marry. Mary, knowing full well that it was useless telling them that her son was born miraculously without a father, and knowing that her son was not an ordinary one but a messenger of God, only pointed to the baby, and immediately Jesus started speaking in support of his mother's chastity and to the fact that he was sent by God to the people of Israel to call them to the right path.

Why does the Easter Bunny make the chocolate so far ahead of time? I hate it when you are so excited to eat a lucious piece of chocolate that you rip open the wrapper and before you know it...the darn thing is in your mouth, and you didn't notice that it had a light dusting of icky on it. It ALMOST ruins the rest of the days' Easter chocolate experience. Almost.

Maybe it's Gods way of telling me/us that Easter really isn't about the chocolate.

Or not. Could've just been a bad batch.

Either way, Happy Easter everyone!

It's been "2000" years for god's sake, how can anyone believe that it's untoutched, over those years it's been like a chineese whisper, i'm sure that over the years people have added to the bible for motives of their own, the things in it, it's silly how people believe in all the things in it, it could be all one conspiracy, i mean where are those four gospels? Huh?

Can anyone tell me of any greater love of God written in the Koran than the love of Christ when he made the lame walk, restored sight, healed lepers and those ill, and restored life to some who died, preached good news to the poor, and then gave his own life as a sacrifice for everyone?

Jesus said ,in the last days (the apostle John wrote, "Children, these are the last days.") there would be so little love that men would hate and betray one another and fall back into sin. Isn't that true now?

In Revelation, it is said that every tribe, every tongue would worship the beast and say, "Who is like the beast and who can make war against him?" and were it possible even God's elect would worship the beast. God's elect has been baptized into Christ's death, so, if "dead" God's elect cannot do anything more worship or not worship. That is why Revelation says, "if possible, even God's elect would ..."

If things are as Jesus said, does anyone really expect to find love in Islam?
