Because whenever I see an evolution question somebody shouts "That's mutation, not evolution!". Well, what does 'mutation' mean to you?

In biology, mutations are changes to the base pair sequence of genetic material (either DNA or RNA). Mutations can be caused by copying errors in the genetic material during cell division and by exposure to ultraviolet or ionizing radiation, chemical mutagens, or viruses, or can occur deliberately under cellular control during processes such as meiosis or hypermutation.

Mutations create variation in the gene pool, and the less favorable (or deleterious) mutations are removed from the gene pool by natural selection, while more favorable (beneficial or advantageous) ones tend to accumulate, resulting in evolutionary change.

But thanks for supporting evolution, even if you didn't know you did.

Awesome explanation, my friend.

So you equate mutations with evolution?

"Mutations can be caused by copying errors in the genetic material ."

That part of your question says it all. Mutations are errors and nothing else. So if a man is born with 6 fingers on one hand, will his child have 6 fingers on one hand? Possibly, but probably not. Yes, there is natural selection, and that natural selection causes cells and genes to be the same, or as intended, a mutation causes something to be "not as intended." If two midgets marry and have children, their children are seldom midgets, why? Because midgets are a mutation and "natural selection" corrects that error, usually.

It's punishment from god, hehe. You know, the animals are all created after his perfect idea, and if there is any mutation, albeit a functional one, it's the punishment from god who decided that the animals, who are SUCH sinners, must be created with a defect, not after his perfect idea.... :-P

Edit: reading some of the answers and re-reading your question I feel the need to add something.

Mutation + natural selection = evolution.

A very simple equation, what is there so hard to understand? Nobody equals mutation with evolution, but it's ceratinly one of its most fundamental parts.

I think some of the extremists might be some kind of mutation, especially since their actions at times seem, inhuman. If de-evolution can occur then it seems reasonable that evolution happened first. I think they might actually be the missing link. Sometimes i wish they were missing anyway.

We know that evolution happens. But we think that evolution theory is a theory. I accept that creation theory is called a theory.

I believe in the Bible record.God can make things aged. This has never been issue to me with accepting God. You do not have to know everything in the Bible or believe it is perfect. The main thing is to believe that God loved us and He gave us Jesus so that the sin will be never the reason we are separated from God in eternity. When we accept Jesus for who He is, Savior and God, we will receive eternal life with Him. The whole Bible message in John3:16. : )

Genetic change in a species is evolution so whatever form of words creationists resort to it's still evolutionary adaptation.

There is no definition of mutations cause they don't exist as likewise evolution doesn't exist and Neanderthal people never existed and their fossils are fake.

Jesus told me so. He told me personally "Causeth me irkage the belief in mutations."

God is Love.

In the 80's Climie Fisher sang how Love changes everything.

It must be something like that.
