It is in the "THE TREATISE OF THE BOYHOOD
OF JESUS ACCORDING TO THOMAS":

HOW THE CITIZENS WERE ENRAGED AGAINST JOSEPH ON ACCOUNT OF THE DOINGS OF JESUS.

And a few days after, as Jesus was walking through the town with Joseph, one of the children ran up and struck Jesus on the arm. And Jesus said to him: So shalt thou not finish thy journey. And immediately he fell to the ground, and died. And those who saw these wonderful things cried out, saying: Whence is that boy? And they said to Joseph: It is not right for such a boy to be among us. And Joseph went and brought Him. And they said to him: Go away from this place; but if thou must live with us, teach him to; pray, and not to blaspheme: hut our children have been killed.
Joseph called Jesus, and reproved Him, saying: Why dost thou blaspheme? For these people who live here hate us And Jesus said: I know that these words are not mine, but thine; but I will hold my tongue for thy sake: and let them see to it in their wisdom. And immediately those who were speaking against Jesus became blind. And they walked up and down, and said: All the words which proceed from his mouth are accomplished. And Joseph seeing what Jesus bad done, in a fury seized Him by the ear; and Jesus said to Joseph in anger: It is enough for thee to see me, not to touch me. For thou knowest not who I am; but if thou didst know, thou wouldst not make me angry. And although just now I am with thee, I was made before thee.

There were a number of "gospels" written in the early centuries that had little validity but were the efforts of people trying to wrestle with theological problems. There are at least 40 or 50 of them.

One of the most entertaining is the Gospel of the Holy Childhood, and I suspect the teacher may have been talking about it - I sincerely hope not "teaching" it. There are a number of stories about Joseph and Mary having to move a lot because the boy Jesus kept killing his playmates. Jesus and his friends made a dam by a little stream; some bigger boys came along and broke it down, as bigger goys will do. So Jesus pointed his finger and killed him.

Rather like the early SUperboy comics, it's someone wrestling with the problem of how a child comes to understand and deal with unlimited power. No basis in fact at all - but fun to read.

There is an old story in apocrypha (non-Biblical writings) about a teacher who disagreed with the Child Jesus and was struck dead on the spot (he dropped dead), but this was never accepted as fact by the Catholic Church.

Another story from a similar source tells of Him sitting on a beach as a toddler and shaping little birds from sand, then clapping His hands to bring the flock to life. A much more charming tale.

Sounds like your sister's teacher is just toying with the students for shock value/amusement. I wouldn't get too worked up over it.

No he is not. That story is from one of the books that never got put in the Bible. It is from an Apocryphal book called II Infancy. The story does exist but it was never ever considered scripture by the Church. This is also why i don't like it when protestants misuse the word Apocrypha by applying it to the Seven Old Testament Books that we use and they do not. The New Testament has always been the same for both faiths.
The story exists. It can be found. But it can not be found anywhere in Church doctrine as it is not scriptural. Peace be with you

That is so insane that this person should be put in the loony bin.

I haven't even heard this from a Crazy "Gnostic" gospel.

FYI this was not in anything as reputable as the Dead Sea Scrolls. The Qumran Scrolls had Old Testament Scriptures, and some psalms from the community there and some texts about their way of life.

However there are some very disreputable so called "Gospels" that were written specifically by enemies of Christianity to make them look bad. They used names for these books that were offensive to Christians like "Judas". They are well known by biblical scholars to be fakes.

If the teacher at a Catholic School is teaching this, it should be reported to your local Bishop.

There is an apocrypha book (not in anyone's bible) that gives tradition-type stories of Jesus that tells the story of a boy who bumps into Jesus and with a word He kills the child then gets into trouble with Mary and Joseph when the father complains.

It's not a true story, that is why it's not in the Bible lol.

The scriptural accounts of the early life of Jesus are brief and sketchy but nowhere is there any mention (or even a vague hint) that he killed anyone as a child or as an adult. Rather these accounts of his life (and interpretations of earlier scripture seen as relating to him) see him as sinless, the giver of life rather than one who takes it.

I would ask the source of this misinformation (the teacher) to supply references to his/her sources.

Heck, if you want examples of Jesus being violent, you have to look no further than your own precious new testament. For example, Jesus told the disciples to bring him any man who didn't believe and slaughter the nonbeliever while he watched (Luke 19:27). Jesus killed a man by having his body eaten by a bunch of worms because the man didn't give Jesus respect (Acts 12:23). Jesus struck a Jewish man blind for interrupting his teachings (Acts 13:8-11), and he struck a man dumb for not listening (Luke 1:20). He took the lives of a couple by scaring them to death for not forking over all the money they made on the sale of a home (Acts 5:1-10).

Yeah, that Jesus is really sweet, isn't he?
