How can the church founded by St. Thomas in India recognize the primacy of Peter in Rome if it is very far.?

Peter was recognized as the senior apostle by Christ. He was not necessarily the head of the "Roman" church. As the senior apostle he had the authority as a prophet, seer and revelator for the entire church. He could change a doctrine like circumcision or kosher foods. His authority would have passed the next senior apostle, James then John, and not to poitical appointees of the emperors.
