In Genesis 3:16, God says to Eve:

"I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing;
with pain you will give birth to children.
Your desire will be for your husband,
and he will rule over you."

What did God mean by this?

The Babylonian Talmud, tractate Sanhedrin, "folio" 98a reads as follows:

"R. Alexandri said: R. Joshua opposed two verses: it is written, And behold, one like the son of man came with the clouds of heaven34 whilst [elsewhere] it is written, [behold, thy king cometh unto thee … ] lowly, and riding upon an a**!35 — if they are meritorious, [he will come] with the clouds of heaven;36 if not, lowly and riding upon an a**. King Shapur [I] said to Samuel, 'Ye maintain that the Messiah will come upon an a**: I will rather send him a white horse of mine.'"

Obviously, the reference to an a** comes from Zechariah 9:9. But where in the Tanakh did the sages see a reference to the Messiah returning on a white horse?

If one loves to eat, and overeat, and does not exercise and take care of their body...they are a glutton...gluttony is a sin...so therefore, one would go to hell for being a glutton?

Why don't preachers talk about gluttony? Is it because most congregations are obese?

The Vatican thought so. They have admitted to the Inquisitions and Crusades.

Adolph Hitler said "As for the Jews, I am just carrying on with the same policy which the Catholic Church has adopted for 1500 years.....

Verse I
I never had anyone to hold
No one to call my own
Always afraid of what people might say
That only forced me to push you away

Prechorus
I waited for the answer so I could clear my head
But I failed to realize that God sent you instead

Chorus
You came to me on the wings of an angel
But I was blinded by all of my lies
Now I know that you are my answer
Now I see that you belong in my life

Verse II
I always thought I would be alone
No one to care for or to call my own
My doubts and fears are here no more
You’re the one that my heart longed for

I've allways wondered this because the three wise men discovered the birth of the christ in the stars, and even followed a star to find him.Why would they be called wise if astronomy is wrong.

What if some of the religions are right? Then what do we do? Is it wrong to believe what they believe with your own beliefs also?

There are a number of so called "christian" beliefs that are of pagan origin. So many, in fact, that the face of christianity has been changed forever. Very few religions still practice TRUE christianity.

I've seen lots of christians on here saying that god answers their prayers...soooo....I've needed a little extra money lately, and last sunday I was walking by a local church. I thought "what the hell, I'll go in and give it a try". So, I went inside (the service was already started) and I sat down in back right by the door.
Well, I'd only been there about 2 minutes when the guy next to me hands me a whole platter full of money!!!
Man!
I guess I was wrong about god.
I've never owned an PS3, so next sunday I'm going back to church....thank you, god!

First of all, everyone in Hell will have worms.
Second you will burn and rot in Hell forever.

And here's a special message to all atheists: You will crouch in a filthy corner of Hell...and Satan's own rats will scamper around you and upon you, and they will eat your sores, and the echos of your screams will startle you, and every new day will bring fresh horrors...
And evil dwarf trolls will run around branding each other and you with red-hot pokers and branding irons, and you will hear your flesh sizzle like bacon...

And all the righteous church people of the earth cannot wait to get to heaven, for there included in the joys of heaven are special viewfinders where they can put in a quarter and watch atheists writhe in agony, clutching their bellies that are on fire and infested with hideous microbes...

Only asking because a lot of verses in the Bible quotes exactly what some people said? How can you quote someone if you were not there at that moment to record it? Wasn't it all just hearsay? Almost like fishermen stories. He caught a small fish told a friend it was a big one and twenty years later it was the biggest fish ever caught? I thought about this question after i read a question about Moses and Gods magic tricks.

...not yet at least, and it's not going to be endless. It is said by denominations like Adventists that "forever" or "eternity" in the bible is actually relative and would be translated better as Eon (an unknown duration of time). It is also said by these folks that the soul is your physical breathing self (animals are souls too, but they aren't lost in sin). That means the durationof burining depends on how long it takes for you to be ashes.

Hell is a debatable term. It is often translated from sheol or hades meaning grave. This is the first death and is called a sleep because although there is no conciousness, God can still resurrect the dead soul. Sometimes hell is from the word gehenna which is a junkyard symbolizing a second death where the soul dies (ceases existing).

I just got the impression that this was so from a JW. If this is true, then why do they work so hard at 9 am on a Saturday morning, trying to convince people who have better things to do to believe in their god? Why do they even feel a need to follow a god?

My GF of 4 years has a secret ( I think something happened to her before i met her, maybe when she was a young girl) she told her step dad to tell me this information ( maybe she feels more comfortable him telling this, I dont know ). He told me that there are 2 things he wants to go over with me about her. He told me that onece i know, it will show him if i really love her or not. I have to wait till saturday to find out what it is. A little background about her. ( she is really nice, her real dad left when she was real young 2-3 yrs. old., she lived in mexico city till she came to the usa when whe was 17, we met when whe was 20, where both now 24. ) what do you think can be the two issues?? a long time ago she mentioned that she wanted to tell me something but did not tell me anything about what it could be because she said i was not going to understand. I hope is nothing bad, but whatever it could be im on her side 110%. thanks ( i know this has nothing to do with religion sorry )
