I don't believe in sin, but it seems like a pretty shady thing to do.

It sounds like you're not happy in your marriage and you're interested in seeing other men.
Regardless of whether it's a sin or not, you're likely to screw up your marriage and make a lot of people unhappy. If it is a sin in your religion, you also get guilt on top of the guily you'll already have for making everyone so unhappy.
Life works a lot better when you tell the truth and live honestly.
How would your husband feel if he found out you were telling other men you weren't married? My bet is he wouldn't be too happy about it. How badly do you want your marriage to work?
If you're worried about sin, there are admonitions against cheating on your husband in most major religions.

Yes. Why would you do such a thing in the first place? Not only is it a sin of lying, and bearing false witness (one of the 10 big ones), but it is also not honoring your husband. If you love him, you should want people to know that you are married to him. It is furthermore not accepting your place as his wife, since you should submit yourself to his authority. Part of your vows, I'm sure, were to forsake all others in favor or your husband, so if you're doing this, you need to stop, and you need to ask both your husband and God to forgive you.

You know lying is a sin, no matter what the subject is. Why would you want other men to think you're single though? Are you planning on cheating on your husband? That's definetly a sin as well.

Its always a sin to lie. You must think about the reason that you are lying about not having a husband?! Especially to other men.

lets forget about the word sin it's stupid.... I work with karma.... why would you want to not admit you have a husband.... and who do you hurt by not telling the truth... you see you have free will... karma means natural consequenses to one's actions... lets say you want to have an affair... you don't admit you have a husband... and you give into it... if it's a mistake you are emotionally hurt... if you get caught both you and your husband are hurt... natural consequence.... Now if you just feel tempted but don't want to have an affair .. admit you have a husband, this will deter the possibility of having an affair... if you fit in the second catagory... see how you can fix your marriage.... spark up communication and love ...

I think you just brought up a COUPLE of sins. It is always a sin to lie. It is, also, a sin to lie in order to expect that a 'lust' sin will be fulfilled.

The sin -if any!!- is not lying about your having or not a husband. The sin -if any!!- is the reason you lie about it!!

yep. A lie is a lie. What is your motive for this lie? to instill a desire or availability of yourself to another man? if thats the case youve got two sins on your hands...the lie, and adultery.

A sin is a sin. A lie is a lie. Yes, it's lying.
By the way, men ... (plural). Please never use an (s) on men again. It's really incorrect.
