Americans with Disabilities Act

2007-04-05 07:49:43 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 1

They have the American with Disabilities Act which makes life a little easier for people living with handicaps. The parking spaces that are designated for them have a little more space to accomodate a handicap-friendly vehicle, are closer to the door of the establishment and in most cases closer to the crosswalk. It is very hard to maneuver about with a wheelchair or a walker anywhere, especially when people aren't considerate and speed through parking lots. It makes life a little easier, since they have to overcome many hardships in their everyday lives, that many people take for granted.
