What is one valuable lesson you've been taught on here by someone of a different faith, that you're truly thankful for?
This is NOT an opportunity to be snipey, so if you're thinking of giving a rude answer, please don't. And if you would include your chosen religion, that would be GREAT.
I'll start.
I'm thankful to the atheists on here for making me think, and for pointing out obscure passages in the Bible that I may have passed over without a second thought.
I am a Christian.

It's true to say that religion fills a void in many people's lives and makes them feel secure. I don't and can't believe in God. What can I do to fill the void in my life which religion would normally fill? I feel alone and without purpose.

I watched some weird show the other day, called A Haunting and some paranormal investigator person got possessed and had to be exorcised. That reminded me of the movie the exorcist, and stuff like that.

What I want to know, is how exactly does somebody get possessed by a demon? What do they have to do for that to occur?

I don't want it to happen to me.

A large crowd of people followed Jesus,
including many women who mourned and lamented him.
Jesus turned to them and said,
“Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me;
weep instead for yourselves and for your children
for indeed, the days are coming when people will say,
‘Blessed are the barren,
the wombs that never bore
and the breasts that never nursed.’
At that time people will say to the mountains,
‘Fall upon us!’
and to the hills, ‘Cover us!’
for if these things are done when the wood is green
what will happen when it is dry?”

Do you agree that people read the bible and interpret in different ways therefore to have different meanings? If so then how can people all praise under a particular religion when their could be so many possible interpretations of the text? For example my RE teacher said that the bible said years ago to me not to use contraception as the bible states not too - contraception was not even around then!!!!

Amburg has grown spiritually, numerically, and financially during my tenure as pastor. In addition to being called to the ministry, I am also a Fine Arts teacher in the ?????? This question is for Buddhists. From what I understand, Buddhists deny that we have an enduring self on the basis that everything (including ourselves) is in a constant state of change. But on the other hand, Buddhists subscribe to reincarnation, which is determined by karma. How is it possible to be reincarnated if we have no enduring self? If I am not the same person now as I was ten minutes ago, how can I possibly be the same person as somebody in a previous life?
