I'm just going to say this once: I never said I don't spell anything wrong. Do you all understand that? I'm asking how much it bothers YOU. This isn't about me. Thanks.

Further information about me: I am a journalist, and happen to enjoy editing. So, yeah, misspellings annoy me. But, I'm asking you, again, it's not about me.

If spell check is working, a lot. If it's just transposing letters, less than when someone says prolly instead of probably. The number of spelling mistakes also plays a part. However there is this girl who intentionally misspells her questions, but there's a flow to the misspelling, so that's ok too.
What really gets me is when a sentence is something like: There's was to busy too b pretty. Instead of Theirs was too busy to be pretty.

A lot. I hate to admit it, but it's true. I tend not to trust the opinion of someone who cannot make a cohesive written argument without a massive jumble of spelling mistakes. The same goes for chatspeak and netspeak, like using U for you and so on. I mean, if you're going to take the time to think about something and then type it all out and share it with people, wouldn't you want it to be as clear and easy to understand as possible? I don't feel it so much when it's someone who is obviously a foreigner - English is a tough second language to learn. But for the rest of us who were taught it and speak and write it everyday, there's no excuse. Besides, everyone has a spellcheck button here. It's just silly not to use it.

most people in this country have a hard time .because of upbringing or mental blocks, from 0 to 100 an one hundred is a nuclear bomb not to bad ,i would treat a person living on the street or the president with the same respect, but maybe i would dry clean my clothes and get a hair cut and shave,if you are telling me you never miss spell and don't use check spell it would bother me that you would bother me that this would bother you.

It depends. If it's clearly just a typo or a case of an honest mistake, it doesn't bother me.
If someone's doing it deliberately (such as misspelling "atheist" even after being corrected, or using text-message lingo for no reason: "u no tht u r a n00b, lol") it drives me absolutely insane.

It depends on several factors:
# whether english is the native language of the person typing
# whether it's a typo or just laziness
# whether it's still easily understandable.
Normally if it's understandable I don't mind. Excessive chatspeak gets an instant 10/10 for annoyance.

It depends on the person.
-If they are insulting me, then yes, it bothers me that they couldn't even spell thier insults correctly.
-If they have posted an extremely intelligent answer, but it is riddled with mistakes, it really pissed me off. You spent all the time to say something, but the impact is ruined by the horrible mistakes that could have been fixed by pressing a little button in the top right corner of the "Your Answer" box.

Quite a bit when there is a spell check at the top right corner of the text box and they are too lazy or uncaring to use it.
It gives an impression of ignorance, poor education, or just plain poor attitude and lack of self respect.
