I watched some weird show the other day, called A Haunting and some paranormal investigator person got possessed and had to be exorcised. That reminded me of the movie the exorcist, and stuff like that.
What I want to know, is how exactly does somebody get possessed by a demon? What do they have to do for that to occur?
I don't want it to happen to me.

Our will is next to nothing up against the evil ones' snares and schemes; and 'it' (read, its minions) can and do transport across a vast abyss, if they are summoned. What is the most reliable way to summon them? The ouija board !!
Play with it at your own peril...IT is the common denominator in the vast majority of 'possessed' cases.. Why, even 'the exorcist' boy (hollywood made the possessed a girl) but his aunt and he played with the ouija and he became possessed.
The st louis priests never could get the dam thing to leave !!
The nuns, in prayer, managed to summon Michael the archangel and He commanded it to leave.
So, go rent and watch the old: VHS 'Witchboard'...not only is little blondie a hottie; but, all of the clues and tactics are in those movies.
Or, go buy M.Scott Peck's "People of the Lie"...
Either way..it is real and very dangerous; and the evil spirits goal is to get the 'host' to murder and suicide...which is really crazy, cause then the spirit doesn't have a 'host'....Now, here's a mystery and a question....where does that spirit go???? And here is a barometer of how anti life and crazy the evil ones' are: they'll destroy their host for pure spite and then be ......

I agree with Shiloh V. there is a shield or bubble around believers. A demon can't posses a true believer in Jesus. Demonic possession is real. Avoid occult like activity and be careful where you spend your time and attention.
This guy above me Bill S. knows what he is talking about.

Reality is more in the mind than most believe.
Never-the-less, mentally unstable people usually become "posessed".
Simply establish your intentions to be mentally balanced and in control of your thoughts. Think about what you want. Don't think about what you don't want. There is a big difference.
Say, " I am strong and in control of what I choose to think"
That is much different than, " I don't want to be possessed, I don't want do be possessed..."

There is no power greater than your ability to choose. The Bible says to flee from the devil and he will flee from you. So, to become possessed...is to ask to be possessed. It can be by allowing this in your life. One does not have to specifically ask in words for the possession. Your actions can speak louder than words. The point is....you are in charge of this happening....so....simplily 'flee'.

It doesn't happen. It would essentially be the same as "Divine Intervention" and be against God's design of freewill.
The Catholic Church does not recognize such happenings in recent times.
If it happens to you, consider yourself a millionaire. Surely the National Enquire or Weekly World News will pay you big bucks to see you in action as a possessed person.

Avoid anything that has to do with the "magic" / occult, avoid ouija boards.
The best defense is obviously to be in Christ.
No true Christian can become possessed.

There's no such thing. Ages ago mentally ill people were mistaken as possessed persons. But now that we know about mental illness possession is nothing more an unsubstantiated anecdotes, hearsay, and HOLLYWOOD. Nothing more.

As a Christian, I wholeheartedly believe that the only way to protect yourself from demon possession is to have faith in God and pray for protection. All those without that little "protective bubble" of faith are fair game.

when one of your four brain ventricles has a disorder! depending which lobe if your brain is affected! you could have an aneurysm , or a bleed , a tumor , or just a chemical imbalance !
